- Formed in the late 07early08 with ex members of Red Organ Serpent Sound, Fighting With Wire and The Subtitles. The formidable HCTLG are hell bent on 2 things, writing great songs and playing great shows! The Recording or their first critically acclaimed 7 song live demo resulted in national radio play and big support slots with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Urban Voodoo Machine, Black Diamond Heavies and The Jim Jones Revue. The band goes on to win the Roaring Meg All Ireland Busking Festival and after touring Ireland inside out they record their second 8 track E.P. which was released as a free digital download. Things take a real leap forwards when they record a live session for the BBC radio 1 introducing as well as BBC's Across the Line and Electric Mainline plus a headline slot at Ireland's largest independent festival, Glasgowbury. HCTLG are a sweaty bad ass rock’n’roll band fusing together old school blues, punk rock, rockabilly, alt country and classic rock like no other...!!!

Saturday 20th December - Flip Vintage Clothing, Derry (instore gig)
Monday 22nd December - Sandinos, Derry
Tuesday 23rd December - Nerve Centre, Derry (supporting FWW)
Saturday 27th December - Cellar Bar, Draperstown / Whiskeytown
Monday 29th December - Auntie Annies, Belfast
Well, Well, Well and a Ho, Ho, Ho Folks, its that time of year again and all at the H.C.T.L.
G camp would like to wish you all a Merry Crimbo and announce some festive frolicking!
Kicking off a run of gigs on Sat 20th the band will be playing an exclusive acoustic set at vintage clothing outlet FLIP, in which the management have agreed to a 10% sale whilst the band are playing between 3 and 4 p.m.
Next on the hit list will be in the downstairs bar in Sandinos on Mon 22nd. This night will include a rare one off performance with a live drum circle which will include 11 percussionists playing selected African drums. Also D.J. sets will be provided by Wally and Reno from the band before they take to the stage.
Onstage the band will be joined by Russian composer/conductor Dmitri Magovanienko who after 17 years has just been recently released from a Siberian concentration camp!
The following night (Tue 23rd) will see the band share the magnificent Nerve Centre stage with General Fiasco and punk rock superheroes Fighting With Wire.
As if that ain't enough on Sat 27th the boys saddle up their trusty steeds and ride into Draperstown to play the infamous Cellar Bar. Support on the night will be from Mid-Ulster upstarts Jumping Orbit and the supersonic singer/songwriting genius of Chris McConaghie and his band a.k.
a Our Krypton Son!

Press...
The would-be supergroup Here Comes The Landed Gentry (a few months have barely passed and already whisperings of things great and small have been passed around) inaugurate with their debut Cellar Bar performance.
Born from the remnants of individual Derry based showstealers, HCTLG are nothing if not show-stoppingly original.
Chancing their hand at playing for pretty much as long as they can, they charge through their set with the gusto of a headlining act.
Marty Doherty on vocals is supported by three others at various intervals - each with their own thing to say and each with their own individual way of getting it across.
There's no over pushing the fact that HCTLG have only been officially around for about 3/4 months. To have achieved half of what's on show here would have been encouraging enough.
Instead with the likes of Johnny Hero and Handbreaker delivered through the hip flask interludes, we're presented with the all round package.
Re-vamped blues doesn't come much funkier than a parade with the Gentry.

Most talked about band in town at the minute...
-Derry Journal

Here Comes the Landed Gentry are here to shake and rile us once more. Well aware that youth is no longer on their side, they're a band for well travelled whiskey connoisseurs, not afraid of a sleazy, old-skool sea shanty. With a few low flying Derry accents ricocheting around the venue, they're the Birthday Party, if Nick Cave had been born in Altnagelvin. Unashamedly filthy.
