STUCK IN THE MUD
Stuck in the mud
With outstretched arms
Waiting for my release
For just one touch
To be set free
Busy bodies sprint past me
It's like no one can see me
And here I am
Still stuck in the mud
With outstretched arms
Waiting for my release
I twist and I tug
I brace myself in the mud
How much longer am I kept to wait?
Is it a crime to wipe this smile from my face?
I hear sounds and I feel movement
As I sway from side to side
Trying to cling onto
Desperate to grasp
But the more I try, the more I see
My grip is too weak to last
This game is not fun no more
I hate being stuck in the mud
Now with febble arms
I whinge and I moan
I'm ready for this day to be over
I came out to play
To leap over a wall
To prance and climb
To swing and slide
But not to be stuck in the mud
In confusion and frustration I wait
Hoping against hope and faith
Then a shove from behind
And a tug on the side
A voice yells out
"Go! This is your time to race!"
Awe struck and beaming with joy
I realise it was worth the wait
All this time
With outstretched arms
Waiting for my release
A voice whisphers...You were stuck, so that others could be set free
Now go, and release many more!
This is your time
Arise to shine
With outstretched arms
I've taught you...
And now, you can fly.

Who will build up this ruined city?
Who will tread on its religiosity?
Who will revive it to its former glory?
And cause these jewels to shine?
Will anyone rise up in this land?
Will anyone worship in spirit and truth?
Will every living creature sing praises?
For the eternal king who is meant to reign?
I see a people wandering aimlessly
Searching for an identity and purpose to pursue
A culture losing its customs and traditions
A contemporary youth screaming to be heard
A servant’s heart unknown to many
Captivating the world by its generosity
The poor pouring out abundantly
Trusting in something, seeking and waiting
