- Motto
- Working with those at risk on the streets
- Ich über mich
- So what do Streetwork do? We go out onto the streets to where young people are, where they have the biggest impact on others, and get them involved in positive activities. We sit with them on pavements or park benches - hidden places where they drink and experiment with drugs - and talk with them openly and frankly about the risks they take, the impact on others, and how to reduce those risks. We seize every opportunity, using our rucksack full of resources, to get them talking about and learning about how to stay safer and healthier and how to build respect for themselves and for others. We offer them alternatives such as sports activities and games. And, we get them involved in projects that improve the community for everyone, making them feel part of something they want to protect
- Wanna Be Our Friend?
- We're more than happy if you want to add us to your friends list, but there are a few things you might want to think about first -
- Profile settings
- - if you don't want everyone to know your business, think about whether or not you really want your profile made public.
- External links
- - Streetwork is responsible for the content of this BeBo page - but we're not responsible for the content of anyone else's page, so if you think something is dodgy about a link from this page feel free to let us know (but we might not be able to do anything about it).
- Language!
- - Personally, I don't mind swearing - but some people are offended by it, so try to consider others when posting stuff.
- Moderation
- - Every comment that gets posted and every friend that gets added has to be approved by a moderator (well, me...) It might take some time, so things might not get posted straight away. Be patient - and try not to say anything that is intended to offend or upset someone: it won't get on the site...
- Where to find out more about Streetwork
- If you want to find out more about what we do, check out website - www.streetwork.org.uk
- If you want to talk...
- You can phone 0131 556 9756 and ask to speak to someone from Youth Services. We have got loads of information and advice that you might find handy - about everything from sex and drugs, even rock and roll...

Calling NEON VISION Dance group
Hey girls,
hope you are enjoying the excitement for your summer holidays!
Remember we said that we would catch up for an afternoon session during July to have a look at pictures, the movie, get your awards stuff filled out and have some cake to celebrate your achievement :-)
So, here is the challenge:
Can you forward this message to everyone who was involved in the group as soon as possible and get everyone to let me know what days during the week beginning the 20th July they will be around?
To organise everything for you, I need everyone to get back to me by Monday the 18th of July!!!
Any questions, send us a message or call the office!!!
it'll be fun to get together again!
Enjoy your holidays!

Hi, that sounds great. Could you come and bring a phone number for your parents? I need to call them to get verbal consent from them if you are under 16. I bring some spare forms on the night and you both can bring them back the next week. If you are over 16 you can fill out the forms yourself.
We are looking forward to seeing you tonight.
Sabine

Reply to BLAH! Running away.
Thank you for contacting us about your friends. It is great to know that you guys support each other. You can ask your friends to phone us on 0131 556 9756 and ask for Sabine, Roger or Mark. They can also email us on mail@streetwork.org.uk, send us a private message on BEBO or come to our office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-4pm (need to phone before so that a worker will be here to meet with them).
When they phone we can find a time and place that they like to meet which could be school, their home, local community centre, our office, a coffee shop or somewhere else. They can also bring a friend if they feel more comfortable.
If you need more info, feel free to ask or phone us.
Some other useful numbers are Childline 0800 1111 and the Runaways Helpline 0808 800 7070 which you guys can phone 24hrs.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Sabine
reply to Minnyy!
Thanks for your comment and question. We have been funded to work in Carrick Knowe for the next 3 months to find out about what you would like to see happening in the park! We have not got any money to build anything though. Your views and opinions about the park are important to people in the community councils etc. as they are wanting to change things in the park for you. Unfortunately we cannot promise anything happen but we can support you in getting your opinions and views across to them. And on top of that we do lots of other things at Streetwork which you can read about on here our website www.streetwork.org.uk or speak to the youth workers you meet in the street. See you out and about.
