- So . . Went to America to become a pilot . . check.
Try to find a job during the worst recession since the last bad recession . . check.
Marry an American and play the 'convince them to allow me to move and work in another country game' . . check.
Spend all money whilst playing said game . . check.
In the meantime, meeting folk from all over the globe and with promises of digs almost everywhere, will never need a timeshare. Having numerous lost in translation moments with the locals and writing a book entitled 'stupid things from the mouths of Yanks' which is on course to have more volumes than the Encyclopedia Britannica.
Missing rolls and squosage, friends from home, Irn-Bru in a glass bottle, cold rain, a good cuppa, proper sports and real beer. Loving the weather, the price of petrol and at the moment the A/C. - About Me

Some things I've learned about flying helicopters
To fly you need only two things, airspeed and money
If it looks good, it usually flies good
The only time you can have too much fuel is when you're on fire
Before each flight, make sure that your bladder is empty and your fuel tanks are full
Never fly wearing anything you wouldn't want to hike in
Gravity never loses. The best you can hope for is a draw
Helicopters don't fly; they vibrate so much and make so much noise that the earth rejects them
Never stand in a shadow thats getting bigger
Flying a helicopter; the most fun you can have with your hand between your legs and not go blind
Airspeed, altitude, and brains. Two are always needed to successfully complete the flight
and finally . . . .
"It takes infinitely more knowledge and skill to stop then land, than it does to land then stop!"
Dr. Sergei Sikorsky

BBC Website - rugby coverage quotes
"Even if they lose all their games by 100 points, I'm giving Namibia the "shirt of the tournament" award. At least it looks like a rugby shirt, not like that nonsense England are sporting."0 comentarios 808 días

Robinson helicopter - doomed?
I found this helpful passage in the R22 operations manual. It's discussing the possibility of the main blades chopping off the tail in some extreme conditions and the effects of low rotor RPM. It describes this as:
"The resulting tail boom chop, however, is academic, as he aircraft and its occupants are already doomed by the stalled rotor before the chop occurs"
Hmm, flying an aircraft that uses 'doomed' in the manual.1 comentario 821 días
