Recently my best mate asked me this question "How did we, as humans, manage to get where we are today???????! This ties in with my last blog where i asked people to send questions that they would like answered, so in an attempt to make certain people believe that i actually can hold a semi intelligent conversation i think i'll have a go at answering this as seriously as i can.

So in response to this i now give my view on this question

Hmm humans... now i could go all serious and talk about evolution, survival of the fittest and all that jazz or i could go the complete opposite and just spout a lot of random shit like i normal do to sound funny and make up for my total lack of knowledge about the subject. But as i said lets look as this seriously.

OK here goes.

Now in answering a question about how we as humans got where we are to today you have to have some understanding about where we came from. Now as you know the 2 most prevalent theories of this are 1- God and 2 evolution. Both of these theories start off in the same place and that is in the creation of the earth. Now isn't the time or the place to discuss such a deep question and in reality i don't think i have the mental scope to do such a question justice so lets skip forward to a time when man was civilized and could communicate using words and understand each other as this is where i think proper civilization began.

Now as i said there are hundreds of theories on this subject and i am only giving bits of my own. This is by no means the correct answer but its based on some of the things i think.

Personally i think modern day society evolved out of morals, whether these were instilled into people via organised religion or we are in fact born with some sort of moral code within us i do not know but at some point man began to realise what was right and what was wrong. In doing this it allowed groups of people to live together and eventually work together as a unit to the betterment of the whole community. From living and working together and abiding by the rules we began to understand that we could make things better. Through the strength and protection of the group it allowed people express themselves in any which way they wanted. Some people did this through art, some through literature and others through science but in the end it all had a positive effect on the community. In effect through these discoveries it allowed man to further look at himself question his environment and ultimately ask and answer many questions of which we still reap the benefits of today.

So in essence my answer to the question "How did we, as humans, manage to get where we are today???????!" I would have to say morals as they promoted the benefits of being together as a group and subsequently had the knock on effect of giving people the freedom to express themselves and answer the question they wanted answered.

As i said this is a very short and condensed version of my opinion on that particular question so if you don't understand it or it seems a mess then i don't blame you but hey i understand it and if your still intrigued then just come and ask me and i'll tell you straight!

Well it looks like my previous blog entry went unread by anyone which is a shame really as i thought the silly question idea has legs but hey ho i'll just have to think of another way of luring people to my site. I like the whole blog concept as it gives me a place to vent and not be interuptted by people who (a) think they know better and (b) dont realise that some people just need to shout and scream to blow off a little steam. Its not like i have a whole load of things to vent but when i do i'll do it here!

There is something tho that has puzzled me for the last week or so and thats the commercial for i think its called the Glade ( or Air Wick, why cant they just keep the same names. God knows why they change them) 3 in 1 air freshner. Now the premis of this thing is that the smell changes every so often so u dont get used to it, now thats a smart idea and i can see that having practical uses but heres the thing; of the 3 smells produced they are 1. Cut Grass (I can appriciate that, hell i love the small of cut grass) 2. Fresh Breeze (Am a little more dubious of this one as it depends what smell is on the breeze at that time but hey i'll let it go) and 3 and this is the 1 that stumps me.............the smell of OPEN WINDOW????

WTF!!!! OPEN WINDOW????? Pause if you will and close your eyes, imagine you are in a room thats pitch black and suddenly someone opens a window, now tell me what does that smell like. No really tell me as i havent got a clue what an open window smells like! I mean christ who thinks of this shit..... OPEN WINDOW... it boggles the mind it really does, ive half a mind to buy one of these things just to find out what open window smells like.

So if you know what open window smells like send your answers on a postcard to this address..... (when i say that i mean just reply on Bebo, its not that i dont want ur postcards its just i dont want to stick my address on the web cos you never know what weirdo might be reading this).

Anyhoo enough venting and hopefully someone will read this.
