Back 2 the Old Skool Bank Hol Sunday August 3rd
Bank Holiday Sunday August 3rd sees Dublin's biggest Old Skool nite return to Zanzi for another 8hours of the finest old skool house music delivered by true legends of the Irish dance scene.
For August we've tempted FRANCOIS out of his retirement to headline alongside fellow legend WARREN KIERNAN! Both have agreed to dig out something special and play old skool house sets for this one off. Francois is most famous for his legendary UFO & Alien clubnights in Columbia Mills plus his residency in the Kitchen. Considering this man was resident in the Asylum & Sides his credentials are very impressive. Other notable residencies included the infamous Genius club in the Kitchen.
Davy K also returns as will Dean Sherry, Barry Dempsey & Darren Nolan as the PHUNK'DUP Soundsystem.
Supports come from Crystal 921 FMs Keith Sheridan & Darren Giles.

Starting out as Minski's in the 80's and building up a loyal underground niche following over the years, the Shaft club in upmarket Ely Place, Dublin as it was re-named by the 90's, reigned supreme as THE late night club for deep underground House, Trance & Progressive dance music. The Shaft became an exclusive dressed-up clubbing essential for Dublin from 1994 until it's close in 1999, for those lucky enough to get past Michael & Noel on the door of course... Greeted by owner Derry on the way in and manager PJ behind the downstairs bar you entered into a hedonistic mixed world where anything went - and often did!
DJs like Paddy Sheridan, Dean Sherry & Chris Boshell started out in this infamous venue moving onto other major residencies but legends like Tony Murphy, Alf & Casper were institutional pillars of the venue & music policies that established the club.
Zanzibar has managed to collect all these DJs for one night only, some out of retirement(!), to show Dublin what it was like in that basement venue around 5am all those years ago...

The Purple Room @ Zanzibar presents a retro night of the finest dance hits with a line up of Dublin’s top dj talent for what will be an unmissable night of the finest dance anthems. Our retro dance is going to be broadcast live on Spin FM.
Since it’s launch Retro dance party’s @ The Purple Room has welcomed over 20,000 people through the doors. The Purple Room has played host to some of the most respected and sought after dj’s in the dance scene since its launch, such as Darren Emerson, Rodger Sanchez and our series of Ministry of Sound events.
Following our hugely successful Retro dance event in March, The Purple Room have put a line up of Dublin’s favorite dj’s together for another unmissable dance event.
One of the dj’s playing is the legendary Dean Sherry, one of Dublin’s most well known and long-established Irish dance music DJ best known for funk driven house, techno & electro plus also classic old skool sets. He has produced various musical pieces. He has also had numerous releases out worldwide under his own Impulsive Records label plus has held high profile Irish residencies and toured globally with his unmissable dj sets. Dean has played alongside a host of top International dj’s.
Joining Dean is the enigmatic Paddy Sheridan, Paddy is known for his kicking blend of house music, & dirty disco. Paddy has played at some of the biggest clubs in the world over the past few years and has played alongside a long list of International dj talent. Paddy prides himself as an icon to the Dublin clubbers, musically guiding them though early crazy, euphonic days of club culture to the more mature sophisticated culture of today.
Ireland has always been one of the most popular countries for International acts due to our fantastic love for dance music and enthusiastic crowds. This is your chance to witness the finest dance anthems one after the other for a nostalgic night of dance history.

DJing since the 80’s Paddy has been at the forefront of scene setting clubs including Shaft, POD, MONO & more recently Traffic from the word go. Playing house music & dirty disco Dublin-born Paddy has jetted to the UK, US & Europe to play headline clubs including the Ministry of Sound, Twilo, Pacha, Shindig, Eden, Sugarshack, Hibernia, Turnmills, Avalon and many more. Paddy has DJed with the world’s finest including Jr. Vasquez, Judge Jules, Danny Rampling, Jeremy Healy many more and on a home front has played in clubs including Red Box, Shaft, POD, Temple of Sound, Lust, Creamfields, MONO, 2FM… and plenty more! Presently Paddy is long-term Saturday resident in Traffic and newly Fridays in SIN.

DJing since 1989, Dean frequented legendary clubs like Sides, Temple of Sound, Asylum & Olympic (where he became resident upon reopening) before landing his seminal 4 year residency in the infamous underground dance club SHAFT. The Musical Mystery Tour, It will take place on Sat the 31st of Oct (Halloween Night). @ FAIRYHOUSE COMPLEX, there will be yet again three rooms of music and in each one there will be a mix of House, Techno, Electro played from 4pm till the early morning hours. There are two heated in door arenas with a full bar and there will be one out door area. It is a Halloween party so best fancy dress on the night will win a cash prize. If you would like to attend this private party please email members@slick-dj.com or contact one of the Dj’s that are playing Tickets priced at €25.
Each Dj will organize a bus there and back priced at only €10 per head return
