I'm going through a hard time in my life right now and twisting bits of wire and playing with crystals and pearls is like chicken soup for the soul.

I'm married to the luverly Asa who forgets everything, is scared of onions, hogs the bedcovers but makes me smile with his eternal randomness. Let's face it, we all need a bit of random in our lives.

I used to dance when I was wee and did the whole theatre thing (writing, directing and acting) until recently. Taking a break from the theatre stuff (stage fright, would you believe!).

Have found that painting and making tiaras and jewellery is very soothing. They're the only things that stop the wee hamster that's powering my brain from going 5 million miles an hour on his wheel.

So, that's me.

    • New Jewels and other exciting things

      Oh boy, it's been a while since I updated this!

      I have recently found some beautiful Swarovski crystals and Sterling Silver components that I haven't used before, so I've been creating some beautiful but simple earrings etc. which need to be photographed and added to the website.

      I've also sourced some lovely pink amethyst briolettes, which will make lovely wedding pieces as well.

      After really enjoying making some headpieces using Japanese Keishi pearls, I decided to look for some more. I managed to find some beautiful lavender petal shaped pearls, so I'll hopefully be able to create something completely unique using them.

      I've also been scouting around for good quality pashminas to add to the website and I'm now deciding which ones to add to the site. I got a beautiful 100% silk pashmina sample sent to me in Petrol Blue, which is absolutely stunning, and there's a supplier who offers a more expensive line of cashmere pashminas, which are also beautiful.

      All I need to do now is to find some good suppliers of beaded and jewelled handbags, and I'll have a more rounded range of items to complement my handmade designs.

      In terms of design, I'm now taking more time to sketch each new piece and to decide which components I will use to ensure that I stand out from the rest of the pack, by offering new and exciting designs which dare to be different.

      I've made some improvements to my website by making navigation easier etc. I've also been creating, photographing and uploading my new collection on to the site, so it's looking more like a shop with lots of goodies.

      I still haven't managed to upload most of my jewellery though, because my photographs of them never turn out right. I don't like using the flash because the colours don't come out right, but if I don't use flash, I get a lot of camera shake.

      Seeing as I can't afford a flash gun at the moment (£199) to allow me to direct the light elsewhere, I think I'm just going to have to set up the tripod and use the remote control for taking the pics.

      So hopefully, I'll have more jewellery on the site soon. Which would be good, considering the website is called Adorabubble Jewellery. Should have called it Adorabubble Tiaras or something. Oh well.

    • It's official. Coco is mental.

      Not only is she still trying to hump her teddy bear, but she's started to behave like a male dog by sometimes cocking her leg to pee then scratching at the ground with her hind paws to spread the scent.

      A touch confused.....?

      My eyes and neck hurt from all the times I've rolled my eyes and shaken my head at her weird antics.

      I was thinking maybe we should let her have a litter to see if that chills her out and then we can get her spayed. However, I'd be worried that she would start flinging the pups around the way she does her teddies. A wee pup flying half way across the room? It just doesn't bear thinking about!
