My latest bargain
I picked up a Dell Axim X30 at a garage sale (boot sale) basically brand new (well it came in the original box with everything it came with new and it didn't even look like it was used) for $20. The charger didn't work and the PDA itself had issues. Well, I bought a new charger for $4 and all I had to do was a hard reset and I got it working! All for $24! It has wifi, bluetooth, etc and runs at 624 MHz! Now that's a good bargain especially when it sells new for $349 and sell used on eBay for around $150 and even some have gone for more! Now I'm not sure what I'm going to use this gadget for but I couldn't pass up a deal like this!

I made it!
Well I've made it back to America. I arrived on Thursday afternoon (Texas time) after a long and exhausting journey! As my flight left at 5:55 am and I had to check in around 3 am I went to the Glasgow airport the night before. I arrived there at about 11pm (thanks to Wilbert for the lift!) after meeting up with some friends at a cafe. I found me a seat long enough for me to stretch out on a try to sleep. For some reason, however, the airport thought it a great idea to test their fire alarms from about midnight through till 1am. Also, some drunk man who had some kids who where whining got really frustrated with them and began to shout (this was at about 1:30 am)at them so loudly that a small crowd began to form to see what was going to happen. The police then got involved and sent the family away - not sure if they had to leave the entire airport or what, but I never saw them again! Needless to say, I didn't sleep a wink that night. I was able to check in at around 3 something. I had loads of luggage and I was sure I was going to pay around £200 in excess baggage fees because my bags were overweight and I had one extra bag (or box, rather) that was classified as "oversize." Thankfully, there was no mention of any extra charges and I was able to check everything in with no problems! Anyway, I was soon on the plane and on my way to Amsterdam where I had a 2 hour stop. Since I was so tired because of missing a night of sleep, I fell asleep right after I boarded and didn't wake up until we were about to land. However, that meant I missed my breakfast which the kind stewardess didn't bother waking me up for! I didn't have any dinner the night before so that meant I was absolutely starving by lunch time! I arrived in Amsterdam and had to rush to the other end of the airport just to join a queue that took forever to move. The rest of the journey was quite uneventful. On my flight from Amsterdam to Houston I was squished between a huge Texan biker-type guy who took up half of my seat and a smelly old Turkish man who got frustrated with the sleeping man in front of him because his pillow was blocking his view of the TV screen so he just grabbed him by the neck and removed his pillow!
Anyway, I'm at Leah and Caleb's right now. It's so hot and humid here in Texas, but they all think it's nice weather!

Nat. i am so bored. i think im going crazy! i have msged just about everyone i know at some point through the day. i am in school for co op in class...AAHHHH! im going nuts. it is so boring ive been on msn on my phone and on facebook and what not all day long and i havent missed a single thing. well thats the latest update in the exciting life of rachel. what about you? how was your barbecue..success? hope you guys had fun! were having a volleyball night at my house tonight so im excited bout that..and thats about all. well before i start rambling in a pothetic excuse to escape the boredom of school i better gooooo byess!

! haha nah, I've been doing indoor climbing in a renovated church near us, been going every saturday morning now for about a year, really enjoyin it too Gutted about the time man:S know exactly how you feel, would give anything for more holidays but I'm away to France soon with Marielle and her family so really lookin forward to that . Hope yous all enjoy that wedding . X
