The GUM Department in Edinburgh is an NHS clinic providing free sexual health care in Lothian. It is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of medical, nursing, health adviser, pharmacy, clinical psychology and clerical personnel

We provide sexual health care to the people of Lothian. We provide STI testing and treatment, care for people with HIV and other services at the Lauriston Building. We provide services in West Lothian and support outreach clinics at ROAM. A number of specialist services are provide for people who have been sexually assaulted, for gay and bisexual men and for people under 16. We also provide training and support for other local services providing sexual health care.We distribute Postal testing Kits for Chlamydia and co-ordinate the treatment of people who test positive for Chlamydia.

We are a teaching centre for sexual health and provide education for professionals including medical students, doctors and nurses. More detail on our activities is available in our Annual report.
