What can I say? I look terrible! Vain? Me? Never! lol

Oh you ladies know how it goes. A girl wants to look good when she is snapped. Yes, we know, we let the team down! In our defence, we didn’t know our photo was going to be published; it was stupid o'clock and as a result Harriet and I had no make-up on and our hair was pretty messy. Oh well...we have a lot fun and check out the looks...Veronica really works the red carpet party looks. You go girl!

Doing the spread was such fun and it is amazing to have been challenged and asked to produce the goods. I love that type of work in particular as I was amongst some pretty talented people there. It really makes the difference, when everybody involved are doing exactly what they love doing. Behind the scenes the atmosphere was pretty relaxed and fun. I laughed a lot that day. The staff in the hotel was very nice and helpful as well and wow, what a fab hotel, all big windows and sea view! I could get used to working in such stunning surrounds.

Apart from that we all wanted to keep the Red dress. I want that dress I seen it first! Hint hint to Coast, the shop where the dress came from. lol

So here I am listening to some R&B and mightily happy and grateful to have had another amazing day doing my thing, and it strikes me. People are always asking me for advice and tips. Well, they can’t get me to shut up really, but saying they ask for the tips sound better…

Anyhow, this mad idea forms. Harriet and I should show the ladies how to recreate amazing looks, step by step, on the web!

Every now and then I become involved with a project that I know I will remember for years to come not just because it has fired my imagination and inspired me in my work life but because it has changed my perspective in some way. The Re-discover fashion show was certainly one of them.

The fashion show, that took place on Friday 2nd May 2008, was the culmination of a project that has been going for some 10 years and that involved the regeneration of the Ballymun area of Dublin, an area that has always been notorious for high unemployment, crime and all the ugly realities underprivileged communities have to deal with on a daily basis.

The project also highlighted environmental issues and maybe even provided a blueprint for the environment friendly enterprises of the future. Their slogan, "Highlighting environmental achievement through regeneration" defines their purpose very well.

The fact that the stunning designs displayed in the fashion show were all made from recycled clothes and materials was no coincidence. The 'Rediscover Fashion' initiative brings fashion and environmental friendly concepts together and guess what? It works!

The designs displayed in the show by Choi Cheung, Eva Maguire and Carrie Ann Moran, were genius. I will be bidding in the auction for a couple of their creations myself!

It was an honour to work as the supervising make-up artist for this project and to have had the opportunity to work with other highly professional make-up artists, models, styling crew and the organisers. It was also great fun behind the scenes.

Being able to design a make-up look to compliment amazing couture that has a purpose and stunning diverse beauty is definitely a blessing and I thank all of you for allowing me to do that.
