I'm Craig, or Sugar Plum Fairy Princess as Jade calls me :)

I'm in 4th year at UWS studying Commercial Music, nearly finished, quite scared! Don't wanna leave all the friends I've made there!

I work in the Student's Union bar in Ayr. It's fun because the people are cool.

I am going out with the best girl ever, Jade is her name and she's amazing. We're planning an amazing fun trip to America next year :) Can't wait! She puts up with a lot of poo because she's going out with me, I'm just glad she does because I need her as much as I need anything, like music and my guitar and Alter Bridge! :)

Alter Bridge are amazing, if you don't know who they are then don't talk to me because I won't like you....

Jade says I'm grumpy, but I think I'm misunderstood lol.

She's the best girlfriend I could ever ask for. I really don't deserve her but for some reason she seems to like me quite a bit so I'm happy :) I can't wait to go to America to see some sites with her and she'll be all cited and love it and then we can look for our fun house! She also takes care of Cuddles and Nemo and Squirt and Coco and Mylo and Flip and Terry :) She's a good girl. Love her millions and squillions :) She's all mine tho, so if you want one go get your own! :)

    • Alter Bridge - Newcastle - 19/01/08 'Soundcheck Party'


      So my journey began at 8.50 on Saturday morning, I travelled from Ayr to Dumfries where I then got a train to Newcastle. Arrived in Newcastle around 3pm where we hunted down the Carling Academy. Went round the front and as I was talking to my friend about coming back for later when we were meant to arrive, there was three guys stood outside who recognised my accent and knew me from the board and asked if I was the one who won the competition. I was like, ‘yeh! Haha’

      So at 4pm we came back to the front doors and met those guys again who had met Michael and he said they could go in for the soundcheck too, which was cool. So Michael came out and then there was 6 of us who went in to the venue with him. We walked into the main hall and the first thing we saw was Mark on stage just setting up his guitar and playin with his rig. After the shock set in Michael gave us some posters to get signed and brought out pizza and drinks for us (non-alcoholic but hey who cares? Haha). Then Michael turned to me and said this, ‘So who won the competition?’, I said it was me, he said ‘oh and do you play an instrument?’ I was like, ‘yeh I play guitar.’ ‘Do you know any Alter Bridge stuff?’, ‘ERM YEAH, haha, not perfectly but yeh I know some stuff.’ He then asked what song I wanted to play with the band!?!? Haha! Amazing!!!!! I said Buried Alive would be a dream come true, he walked to the stage and shouted to Mark to ask if that was alright, Mark was like ‘yeh rock on’ threw up the horns to me.

      By this time I am majorly excited, I was already but now I was gonna play with the whole band! Haha, when I heard I MIGHT get the chance to jam with them, I thought that might mean, play a guitar for a bit, or just talk to mark as he played a little ditty, but no, I was gonna be playing on stage with them during their soundcheck!

      So anyway, they then got on with their soundcheck, Myles and Brian came out and Flip eventually emerged behind the drum kit. They played some little riffs here and there and played what they said was new stuff but nothing perfected obviously. Mark said they were messin around with riffs and structure but what they played sounded amazing. There was a clean part which began the song and was very Blackbird-ish, then went into a beautiful heavy distorted guitar. I was in awe at this point so I forget how it went haha, but if they develop it and add vocals, it’ll be amazing.

      They then went on to play a little bit of Black Sabbath, I don’t know the song so I cant tell you the title, but that medlied into Metallica’s Fade To Black, it was amazing, just to hear Mark play the heavy bit in the Metallica song. Haha, brilliant. After doin that they messed around a little more and then decided to play a full song, they played Brand New Start, it was perfect, Myles didn’t sing the whole thing, presumably so as not to strain his voice before the show, he didn’t sing all the choruses. After messing around a little more Mark turned to me and said so you comin up to play?

      HAHA! This was it, I was being invited on stage with Alter Bridge!!!!!! I went on stage and Myles shook my hand and welcomed me, then Flip shook my hand and asked if I was ready to rock, I said YESSSSSSSSSS haha. Mark then turned to me and shook my hand and asked how I was feeling, I was kinda lost for words, I have met the guys before, but never like this! He said yeah well it’ll be fine then he asked the funniest question ever,

      “So, erm, you wanna take the solos and the lead parts?”

      !?!?!?!??!?!!?!?!

      HAHA!!!!!!!! YEH RIGHT?! I was like, ‘nah ya can do them, I’ll do rhythm thanks’ lol, my buddy said I shouda done the solos but I’d rather been on stage rockin 6 inches from Mark Tremonti as he plays a solo instead of me improvising over him. Either way he was like ‘yeah that’s cool’. The guitar tech came on and gave me Myles’ red PRS that he uses in Open Your Eyes. Mark then apologised to me for hav

    • USA Update - September 2nd

      So it’s over, my career with Disney has finished as quickly as it begun… Does 3 months constitute a career?! It does now!

      Saying goodbye to everyone at work really sucked, I love all the people there. They all got be a big card and signed it and I got everyone to sign an autograph book too. I really wish I could stay coz I loved workin there. Definitely the best job I ever had, I’ll miss everyone there so much. I hope to come back and visit them very soon.

      I’m still in Orlando right now but was up most of the night on Thursday saying goodbye to everyone :( It was very emotional! First Danielle went, boo, then Mikey-sean was gone! Then they all started droppin like flies, Tomo, Rich, Emma, Oreo, VB, Mark, Mike Lucy, Dec, it was crap sayin bye to everyone!

      However, before everyone left we did have a good laugh on Thursday night. On Thursday morning we had to get and cash our final pay checks, so we did that first thing. Then myself, Alan, Rich-yam-yam and his girl went to Downtown Disney for a while, I bought my ticket for Shinedown! :) Then we went back to Vista, I did some REALLY quick packing, and went for a final tour of MGM Sutdios with VB, Oreo and Mikey-sean. We went and volunteered for the bit at the start of the backlot tour which I’ve always wanted to do :) I was the mechanic and I got put in this big cabin thing and got 1000 gallons of water launched at ma heed :) :) :) haha, it was great fun. Then we got some fast passes on the fly and went on Rock’N’Rollercoaster and Tower Of Terror for the final times :( booooooo,

      RIP MGM Studios as next year you become Disney’s Hollywood Studios :(

      So after MGM we went back home, got ready to go to Graduation. Got to the Commons (another housing complex) and saw everyone that was leaving on the Friday. We got Mickey-Mouse hats with ears and little gold tassels on them like graduation hats, and certificates of program completion. We then got pictures taken individually and as a group with Mickey :) he was fun haha. Gotta love the boss! :D Then started the tears…oh dear, the girls started and that was it, non-stop! Some people had to leave the Commons and go back to our apartments to get packed and ready to go, the rest of us headed to the Magic Kingdom for final farewells to Disney.

      Danielle, myself, Tomo, Rich-yam-yam, David, Rich and other people came along and we watched Wishes (fireworks at the Magic Kingdom) for the final time. It was also very emotional. More tears, and we got our hats embroidered with our names. We all then went back to the apartments and got some of the other guys and went to Bennigans for a while. I left early coz it was crap, lol, went back and said bye to peeps. Then began the night of goodbyes.

      On Friday morning I left Vista Way Apartments for the final time. I checked-in to a hotel just 5 minutes down the road at the top of Hotel Plaza Boulevard and that is where I am currently.

      Going to see Shinedown tonight which I am VERY excited about J it should be amazing, only got into them this summer but I got their two albums and their dvd and they’r all amazing! :) chuffed, House Of Blues should be rockin tonight!

      Tomorrow I am goin to Vero Beach to see little Erin, not seen her since June 5th so it will be great to see her. Then on Friday we’re both comin back to Orlando for the night then to the airport on Saturday to fly to LAS VEGAS!!!!!! Yeh baby!

      Anyway, more updates soon! And I should have more pictures up very soon! Leave me a comment if you want guys, miss everyone back home!

    • USA Update August 24th 2007

      Thought it was time for another update…

      A lot has been goin on since I last wrote a blog, work has been great, got to know a lot of great people at the Grand Floridian, sadly I have to leave them all soon, I really wish I could stay, but noooo….I’ve got to go back to crapland.

      I visited Sea World a few weeks ago, it was grrrrrrreat fun. Shamu rocks! (name of a show but shamu does rock) it was well cool and the big roller coaster was fun too, the Cracken! Raar. It was only me and alan but it was a great laff seein all the shows and stuff.

      FINALLY GOT TO SEE SOME PENGUINS!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
      So I’ve stil not been to a zoo, but at least I’ve seen animals :)

      The week after that me Alan, Richard yam-yam and Rich went to Busch Gardens which was also really good. Definitly the best park for roller coasters and thrill rides. Sheikra was fun-arama and Montu was amazinosity! Saw some animals n that, was a good laff.

      I have missed loads of gigs coz I seem to be too nice to call in sick to work, I wish I had just done it. I missed Projekt Revolution, Deep Purple with Edgar Winter, Family Values, John Mayer…crap

      BUT I’m definitely goin to see Shinedown on September 2nd, I’m finished work by that time so nothing will stop me! Erin is also on the case of sortin out tickets to Ozzfest which would be amazing!

      On Tuesday August 21st we all went to the Pirates And Princess Party at the Magic Kingdom. We bought costumes and got all dressed up (see photo album) and as we entered the park two Russian girls came up and got pictures taken with us. We were like, yeah, why not? Then some guy asked us about event times and information, we were like “don’t work here mate, ta”. It was a well good night tho, I met Jack Sparrow, he stole my hat, signed it, then I stole it back. Mwaha, that’ll teach him!!

      I’ve also got everything finalised for Las Vegas, flights are sorted and hotels too. Stayin in the Excalibur, excited, its gonna be fun. Can’t wait to celebrate my 21st in Vegas baby!

      Yeah yeah it's crackin oot here, absoluuuutely roastin!! our apartment doesny hav a/c so I've taken the drastic step of putting my towel in the freezer and then sleeping under it!! haha although I think the heat is makin me sleepwalk a lot more than usual, I woke up beside the ice tray from the freezer this morning with no recolection of taking it from its home.
