- urs erbacher is a euopean drag racer who has been involved in the sport for over 25 years...driving a top methanol funny car he finished in the top 5 in the points every year between 1999 and 2002 before finally winning the european championship in 2003 he went on to win the championship again in 2004 and 2005 before quiting the class to go into top fuel ..in his 1st year he finished an impressive 3rd in the points before taking the championship crwon in 2007 by 2 points ..he is now racing on the NHRA and will be defending his top fuel chamionship in europe in 2008

urs erbacher finished his weekend at the 2008 veidec festival with a runners up place after qualifying 7th after saturday ..
he took a big round 1 win agaist championship contender lex joon and went past jari halinen to reach the final where his tyres blazed at the hit of the throttle to give andy carter his 1st win of the season and the championship points lead

urs erbacher reached the semi finals in finland at the 2nd event in the f.i.a european championships only to lose out to eventual event winner lex joon when the blower belt came of early in the run ..urs had qualified 2nd with a time of 4.84 .and got passed finlands tommi hapanen in round 1 ...
