I dont understand.
Why is it when you are so tired and you are so desperate for sleep you think your brain is going to have a melt down, so you go to bed - and you are so wide awake that theres no chance that you are going to get the sleep that you so desperately need.
Some say its cause your brain hasnt switched off, and its still processing information, therefore the shutdown switch doesnt come into action.
I have heard from a pyschiatrist that if you are that tired but just cant sleep then you should get up out of bed, and do stuff to keep your brain active, because it will wear itself out, and you will be less frustrated and able to sleep much easier when it does.
I put this idea into action.
I moved my furniture around yet again in my bedroom, changed the sheets, put on a new quilt cover, read a book, watched a movie, started to put my dvd collection into some kind of strange order.
Next thing I know its time to get up cause my alarm has gone off. Hello, Im still awake!
I am now in bad need of a great nights sleep, that isnt haunted by nightmares, or icky things from my past.
