      Less than 150 years ago there were no police men in Britain. The first policemen appeared in the streets of London on the evening of Tuesday September the 29th 1829. They were known as the metropolitan police or “new police”. They wore tailcoats and top hats and instead of being armed they carried around a short wooden stick and a baton. They were split up into divisions called beats. Part of their work was to help get rid of highwaymen and night raiders so that it was safe to go out in the streets even when carrying valuables. The police were able to stop riots with out killing or badly hurting anyone. Another job the early policemen had to do was to look out for pickpockets which was a large crime in big cities; London was on of the easiest place to pickpocket someone because there are a lot of people on London and it is always a busy place. The poor people where the pickpockets and those poor people were watch the most just in case they committed a crime.

      i forgive you, me and katie walked the streets of canterbury and had a lovely time anyway... but i do really miss you.. i cant believe summer is nearly over, it had gone tremendously quickly, but i have really enjoyed it...

      i have been doing lots of exciting stuff.. i have been dancing every day last week in Chatham with my dance company which was fabulouse and we did a performance at the end...:D i have been working alot, which was ok..
