  • Jobs @TrueTube

TrueTube uses the powerful medium of the web, and advances in streaming video technology to help young people think, speak out and act on important issues happening in the real world.

In order to maximise our impact we have created two offline projects to compliment the work of TrueTube. These youth led initiatives involve a range of real time events and issue driven projects designed to motivate and empower young people, including those who are hard to reach, to invest their time into community issues and take appropriate action. We have a number of paid and volunteer posts that are available.

    1. TrueVan
A mobile video booth, internet provider and gaming station allowing disadvantaged young people access to online experiences and encouraging a new generation of responsible global citizens. This will visit 24 youth groups and schools across England during summer and autumn 2009.

    2. (i)TrueVents
6 highly interactive online and real-life events during which young people, experts, politicians, journalists and others explore a major issue facing young people and come up with solutions. These events will be designed and delivered by young people with the aim of encouraging post event community action.

    (ii) Annual TrueVent
The TrueVents will feed into the Annual Event that will take place at the end of November 2009. This will be designed and delivered by the youth steering group and other young volunteers. High profile politicians, business people, activists, journalists, academics, union bosses, church leaders, community leaders, artists and young people will come together to discuss major issues affecting young people.

    PAID POSTS

    1 x Events Coordinator
We are looking for an experienced events manager to work with us in developing and delivering 7 highly interactive online and real life events during which time young people, experts, politicians, journalists and others explore major issues facing young people. The post-holder will also manage a team of volunteers.

This is a 4 day a week contract ending in December 2009. Evening and weekend work will be essential and you must be prepared to travel across England. Previous experience of working with young people is essential and an understanding of new media is desirable.

    Salary: £394 per week.
    Closing date: June 5th

3 x Mobile Film Van Workers
Truetube will be delivering a series of film and community action workshops with young people across England. A mobile video booth (a van), internet provider and gaming station will allow disadvantaged young people access to online experiences. We are looking for 3 people with experience working with young people and expertise in film making, editing, new media and animation as well technical knowledge and expertise to support this delivery. You must be prepared to travel across England and work evenings and weekends. You must have a clean UK driving license ( a maximum of three points), have driven for a minimum of 3 years and be over 25 years of age and be prepared to undergo an additional driving test for the van. This is a full time contract ending mid December 2009.

    Salary:£490 per week
    Closing date: June 1st

    VOLUNTEER POSTS (expenses paid)

1 x Full time Volunteer Management Assistant Post – with expertise in PR (minimum of 13 weeks with 30 hours per week, volunteer must be aged between 18-25 years)
