      Well its almost xmas time! yeay!! AS@U have been working their lil butts off to make sure they have planned awesome lil goodies for you in the 2009!

      AS@U is making a huge effort to try to out do all previous years of events with our stunning lil star Sarah (events coordinator) and with the help of our wonderful staff and exec.

      Come along to O-week!

      Whanganui 16th, 17th, 18th Feb 2009

      Palmerston 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th Feb 2009

      Wairarapa 24th, 25th, 26th Feb 2009

      You are in for a treat! cant wait to see you there.

    • SPORTS TOURNY

      Here are the details for the Sports Tournament on Friday 17th October.

      I (Christina - Events coordinator) have taken into account all the feedback received from students (thanks Jo) and considered the practicality of running each sport (volunteers, refs, equipment etc) and have come up with the following

      We will be playing Netball, Basketball, 6 aside soccer (will be indoor if weather bad), and touch rugby (weather permitting) and Indoor rowing. Also table tennis will be set up on the day. Krumping will happen back at UCOL just before prize giving.

      The venue is the B&M Centre, Pascal Street Palmerston North.

      Sports will run from 10am – 3pm at the Arena. Students will be asked to meet down at the Arena (B&M Centre). There will be food for sale (subsidized by AS@U) so it will be cheaper for you. AFter 3pm we will vacate the Arena and head back to AS@U student house and UCOL.

      Students do not need to be part of a team already, they can put their names down and we will try and find them a team – this is all up to interest so lets hope there is plenty! We will initially have Mens, Womens, Mixed categories.

      Transport will be provided for Whanganui and Wairarapa campuses. If students wish to stay in Palmerston over the weekend then they will need to make their own arrangements.

      There will be a prizegiving at 4pm at AS@U house where there will be prizes given and a BBQ provided and will prob finish at 6-7pm.

      So rounding up:

      - Check in time for the bus is 8:30am
      - Bus leaves Whanganui and Wairarapa campuses at 9:00am
      - Games start at 10am and finish at 3pm.
      - Krumping commences and then Prize giving at 4pm
      - Followed by a BBQ at 6pm
      - Then home time on the buses.
      - THIS IS A GREAT WAY TO MAKE MORE FRIENDS AND HAVE FUN!!
