Tips:
.o. Decide on the theme or style of your wedding. Do you want classical, romantic or non-traditional?
.o. Consider whether you want songs sung for each part of the ceremony or do you want to mix songs and music.
.o. Do you want live music such as a harpist, keyboard player, guitarist etc....?
.o. Check with the contact person in charge of the church or ceremony venue. Some venues, especially churches, may have rules about the type of music that is allowed.

Here are some explanations to some questions that I am asked regarding Booklets.....

I have been asked many questions regarding my booklets. Now that the Wedding Season is starting to pick up and the January Blues are a mear distant thought, I have had quite a few enquiries lately.
Just to give you a little heads up on what I can do and a few explanations...
I can make (which is printed and created in my own home) Booklets & Pamphlets.
The Pamphlet has been created for those who may be having a Wedding Blessing, going abroad or just those who would like to stick to a budget. There are no rules to have a Wedding Ceremony Booklet, just the majority of us just have one.
♥ The Pamphlet is just a small version giving an outline of the Ceremony. See my album for an example.
♥ The Booklet can be created Portrait style (long) or Landscape. All depends on your choice. Either way is acceptable. My Booklets consist of a short version and a long version. The Short Version leaves out most of the Communion text (even though the Priest will be still saying it, depending on the Ceremony), Our Father and the Gloria (there will be a few words to prompt the congregation).
♥ Now heres to the creative part. Personally I like pictures in booklets. They leave it easier to read and thought also. I have a large selection of pictures just black or full colour. Again see my photos scanned to get an idea.
♥ Booklets can be printed on different types of paper. Now again it all depends on what you want to spend on your budget. Whte paper is the cheapest to the pearl paper which is at the top of the list. Any colour is acceptable but best to stick to white, cream or pastel plain or pearl shades inside your booklet.
♥ Now for the outside of your booklet. You again have the choice to be creative. See my photos for options. I used black card with pink ribbon to show off my bridal party colours. You however can do anything you wish. Here are a few options.
♥ Plain White Paper cover is the cheapest but still effective- Pic of your Church, Our Wedding Day, maybe a piece of ribbon or flower stuck to the front cover.
♥ Plain Cream Paper - all above can be created. Remember if you are printing a picture on the front or adding text to complement your Bridal Party colour, it may vary.
♥ Pearl Paper - you will have to contact me on the cost of this cause my distruibutors may vary in price. I always do my best to stick to my original costs thou.
♥ Card Cover - again any of the above can be created. As we are going down the page the price may vary.
♥ Card Pearl Cover - again depending on the type of card any of the above can be achieved. I do have to stress 300gsm card cannot be put through a printer but you have the option of adding embelishments like ribbon, flowers, stickers or just leave it plain.

Music plays an integral part in our worship. The wedding liturgy is enhanced enormously through the use of good musicians and good choices of music.0 Replys 84 weeks
There are certain parts of the mass where singing is very important and it shouldn't be a problem to involve the congregation fully.
• The Psalm,
• the Alleluia,
• and the Acclamations in the Eucharistic prayer.
It is important that the person leading the singing knows exactly when and how to invite the congregation to sing their parts in these pieces.
Other places where you might use music include:
• As guests arrive
• At the beginning of the liturgy ( instrumental)
• As the couple are lighting the candles
• Lord Have Mercy (Kyrie)
• The lighting of the centre candle
• The offetory
• Preparation of the altar (either sung or a simple instrumental)
• Holy Holy
• Our Father
• The Great Amen
• At the sign of peace
• Communion time( followed by a solo like a Reflection)
• During the signing of the registry (this might be a time for a solo or an Instrumental)
• Closing Hymn
• The Final Procession
Your priest will be able to advise you on when music is most relevant for your particular ceremony.
What kind of music should you use?
It should be music that you know and enjoy, and that means something to you - pieces with which you and your guests will be familiar. Think of the music used for Sunday mass and begin with that.
The music should also be appropriate to liturgy and to what is happening at the time in the ceremony. For example you might love Pie Jesu, but remember, it is from a Requiem, a mass for the dead! Likewise having a hymn to Our Lady at communion time (for example Ave Maria) when we are actually focusing on receiving the Body and Blood of her Son, doesn't make sense.
The musicians you have asked to lead your music should be experienced. Ask them for suggestions and get them to demonstrate the music for you. Also, check in with your priest before making any final decisions and before putting anything into the final draft of your booklet.
What about using music from outside of the liturgy?
Only music that is appropriate to the liturgy should be used because your wedding liturgy is a Christian celebration of marriage.
If you, as a couple, have a favourite song that you want sung on the day it is probably much more effective to have it sung at the reception.
Who do we get to look after the music?
Couples usually choose from a soloist and an accompanist, a folk group or a group of friends to lead the music for their wedding. Remember that singing in church is different to singing in other places. In church, music is considered as prayer, and not performance, and needs to be treated as such. It is important, then, that whoever is leading the singing believes in what the music is expressing and can draw others into this prayer.
How much will it cost?
The actual cost needs to be negotiated with whomever you are engaging. Remember, too, that you may need to give musicians something extra if you are asking them to meet with you and go through different selections of music from which you can choose.
