Since 1999, Longwave has been one of the New York City’s leading exports. After the success of Endsongs , their 2000 independent release, the band signed with RCA Records and began work with producer Dave Fridmann, known for his efforts with the Flaming Lips and Mercury Rev. The resulting album, The Strangest Things, led to critical raves and tours across all parts of this earth with the likes of The Strokes and The Vines. Longwave followed up on the success of The Strangest Things by entering the studio in 2004 with famed producer John Leckie, whose work with Radiohead and Pink Floyd endeared him to the critical taste of the band, and There’s a Fire was released in 2005. With a return to the recording studio in 2008 with producers Dave Fridmann and Peter Katis, Longwave finds itself on the list of indispensable listening for the first part of this millennium. Expect them to stay there.

      home again. last night shannon and i were at the studio until 2am mixing a song that didn't make "secrets are sinister", called "missing days". it is a very old song, before "there's a fire". from the "tidal wave", "strangest things" days. i guess it was left off THOSE records, too....

      the okgo tour was great, we really had a good time. i hope we get to see them again soon.

      we even celebrated their bassist, gerardo's, birthday together.

      day off today in portland, ME. we drove from northampton, MA, where we played last night. now we are sitting in jason/my hotel room, trying to decide which grim chain restaurant nearby will be the recipient of our meager per diems...

      we had a great meal today at a place called sylvester's in northampton. apparently this guy invented the cracker?! jason and bobby played trivial pursuit while morgan and i text/twittered back and forth.

      driving for many hours in the van has shown me just how small my bladder is. northampton is sleepy town with great food. portland is so far, cold. we're trying to decide which film we're going to watch at the local movie theater. it looks like Milk is winning.
