Royal Edinburgh Hospital
This band was orginally set up to help save Sick Kids losing some of its wards - and we manged it!!
Cancer and heart wards are staying where they belong!
We are now here to help fundraise for this fantastic hospital, without many ex-children would not be here today - or certainly be worse off.

☆ Help Sick Kids Royal Edinburgh Hospital - Move Home!
This year ....
The Forth Road Bridge Fun Trek Is Back,
& it is back to help the Sick Kids move home!
Sick Kids Royal Edinburgh Hospital current location is a very loved but very old Victorian building, which is struggling to accommodate everything a special hospital needs. Which is why in 2012, Sick Kids are moving to a location next to ERI Hospital.
Now we all know moving home costs a lot of pennies!
Which is why I am fundraising to help provide vital equipment and some things to make a ''big bad'' hospital seem a lot more homely and safe to young children and here is how I am doing to do it:
Event Name: Forth Road Bridge Fun 'Move'
Date: June 2009
Time: 13:00 hrs
Start Location: South Queensferry
Mid Location: North Queensferry
End Location: South Queensferry
Attendees: 1
Target: £1000 ! !
Fantastic cause: Sick Kids New Pyjamas Campaign
So please, please dig deep to:
Please Sponsor & Encourage Us !
Even The Smallest Donation Can Make A Big Difference

Road Bridge walkers set sights on £5000 Replys 84 weeks
A GROUP of fundraisers planning to walk across the Forth Road Bridge to raise money for a children's hospital have collected almost £150.
Three teams are currently planning on taking part in the event on June 14, led by former Sick Kids patient Aimi Burrows.
However, they are still looking for more sponsors and volunteers as they have a target of £500.
All the money raised will go towards the Sick Kids Friends Foundation. -

Pages on the popular networking website Bebo have also boosted the campaign, with 230 people signing up in just four days.0 Replys 92 weeks
Aimi Burrows, 18, from Broxburn, who suffered a Vesicoureteral reflux in the kidneys as a child, started the online petition. She said: “I have spent many days, nights and weeks in the Sick Kids as a child.
“It is a friendly environment for children. There are toys and paintings and the people there work with kids everyday.
“Children, like most people, do not like hospital, and I know from experience that it is a very scary place as a young person. But the Sick Kids was almost like a home away from home for me.”

Many of you have voted that you would fundraise for this special hospital.1 Reply 92 weeks
One of the few ideas we have been given is a sponsered walk around over the forth bridge.
It will be in the middle of June so plenty time for planning and will be accessable for everyone to do!!
I will be starting a poll soon as there has also been a sponsered bike ride/walk around edinburgh (meadows etc)
WHAT DO YOU THINK ? ? ? ?

sick kids hospital , looked after my son 9 years ago when he had cancer. the hospital and the whole team not only looked after my son but the whole family. we had to come from perth for gruelling treatment for my son, and this hospital was more like home to us. it is much more than a hospital, it is a place where families can feel relaxed during the kids stay. we were lucky to have this amazing hospital looking after my son , we will never forget the kindness shown to us all by the most dedicated people i have ever known .
My Son Ross had a spinal operation 4 weeks ago. I would just like to say a huge thank you to Mr Tsirikos and his team, the recovery nurses Lorna & Alison who brought Ross round from his operation, and came to visit him every day during his stay. I would also like to thank the HDU staff, and all the nurses and staff in ward 5. Words of thanks are not enough for the hard work all these people do on a daily basis. Mr Tsirikos is an amazing man, and to my family he is a hero.
Ross is recovering well and looking forward to starting a new life minus the hump on his back. x
