- Me, Myself, and I
- Bebo is not really my on-line space of choice but I originally decided to put together this profile as a learning experience. My professional background is in education. Over the past couple of years I have been working developing uses of ICT in learning and teaching, hence the thinking about on-line community spaces like Bebo.
I live on the south side of Glasgow, am a christian and have a fantastic family. Any spare time I might have tends to be taken up by family or church although I try to spend a bit of time on my amateur radio, photography and music.
- Music
- I love music. My ipod is usually set to shuffle in the car so that I can hear a variety as I am driving around. Some of my favourites are : Newsboys, Delirious, Switchfoot, Beatles, Genesis, Johnny Cash, Corries.
I also play the guitar. I don't play very well and I don't play nearly enough. Although I have been trying to rectify the latter a wee bit recently. - Films
- I enjoy watching films but don't often get to the pictures. As a trekkie I am always keen to see a new Star Trek film. The Lord of the Rings Trilogy was great (not as good as the books but still good). I just enjoy a really good story.
- Sports
- I have never been a very sporty person but given the chance I like to be outdoors. When I was young I played a bit of rugby, I used to swim a lot and I enjoy golf although I don't get the time I would like to play.
- Scared Of
- I don't ten to scared particularly but I do get anxious when I don't feel particularly in control of things.
- Happiest When
- I am always happiest when I am with my family. I love to be outside walking or cycling. I will usually have a camera with me wherever I go.
- hobbies
- I am a radio amateur(GM0IVQ) although not particularly active on the bands. If you catch me it will be on the GB3CS repeater or on 40m in the evening. I love photography, particularly now that I have a digital SLR (Nikon D50). You can check out my photos on flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/gordon_... ), Bebo is rubbish at photos due to the file size limits. I like to play the guitar but don't do so often enough.

Interesting reading
I read this on Pip Wilson's blog (http://pipwilsonbhp.blogspot.com/200... ...it's well worth a think!
We humans have two floors in our life.
Ground Floor where we invite our friends, the gas man, the milk man, the neighbour and an attic where we dump stuff. We have both upstairs and downstairs.
When things are worn out, eyesores, unsightly - they are understandably placed out of sight in the attic.
We don't have to see it up therOthers won't see it there.
When we don't like certain parts of ourselves
attitudes some ugly events a spoiled relationship hurts
vulnerability an uncomfortable emotion or an error of judgement we put them in the attic out of site, out of mind, buried but not dead. Buried alive in the attic.
The attic will eventually become full, overloaded.
We will become scared of it all falling in on us.Will it collapse on us?
The attic - we all have an attic
The attic is our subconscious
The attic is sometimes called 'suppression'.
If we live our lives with the aim of being authentic
we will be willing and able to display and reveal some of our vulnerabilities, hurts, uncertainties and then
we will not be overloaded upstairs.0 Comments 742 days
