- Top Cat has been a talented lyricist since he was in infant school where he made many songs that were popular in the playground of his school that are now famous in his birth town of Manchester UK.
Top Cat got interested in emceeing when he went to Jamaica in the early 80's and his cousins brought him in. Going to reggae dances and listening to the top mc's of the time Brigadier Jerry, Josie Whales, Charlie Chaplin, Peter Metro, Johnny Ringo and more influenced the young Top Cat to take up the career of music and mcing.
After making a name for himself in his area as the best youth mc, Top Cat eventually did a tune for Joe G called "Love Mi Sess" which was his first release and his first no1 in the charts.
Top Cat also mc'd for Sir Coxsone sound alongside Tenor Fly and the 2 went on to work with Fashion Records scoring multiple hits.

Top Cat Dubplates
As many of you may know I have recently retired from doing dubplates. Still there were a lot of sounds who complained that they didn't know and that they couldn't book on my last dubplate session as it was too close to xmas.
Well for all the sounds who are out there who still want to get a dubplate from me then I have decided to hold one more dubplate session for the first 9 sounds to book their place on my 3 day dubplate session in June from the 1st until the 3rd.
Now I have some bad news. The first and the second have already been booked out quickly and there are only 2 spaces left on the third and final day so if you are interested you need to get in contact with me straight away.
