- Alex is overweight, unhealthily so, but with the support of his friends and his sense of humour, Alex knows how to deal with most comments about his size.
Alex has had a difficult time at Grange Hill and experienced the worst bullying imaginable, but now uses his experience to positive effect, acting as a mentor (known as a 'buddy') to year six pupils attending Grange Hill. Alex is determined that other kids should have a happy experience at Grange Hill.
