- Well the summer weather seems to be coming and going at the moment, but I'm planning on having plenty of barbecues in the upcoming months. I've missed sitting out in the garden with friends, drinking cool beers while stoking a hot fire and tending to the meat! Must get a frisbee and some other park toys to play with too...
Other things about me...I appreciate good music, I play bass and a bit of guitar, I'm particularly into my metal and funk!! There are few things that will get me on the dance floor quicker than some fonky assed songs like Jungle Boogie by Kool And The Gang or The Workout by True Beatz (look it up)! Love nights out with friends in places like The Buff Club or Subclub or going to see talented musicians play a live gig.
I'm a curious person, I like to know how things work and enjoy ripping things apart to find out how they work (or worked!). Yes I am a geek and I don't apologise for it!

It was quiet last night as I lay in bed trying to get to sleep, then all of a sudden it was too quiet. Quite randomly my computer went off and fell silent. I paused for a second and tried to think if it was still set-up to power it's self down after a certain period of inactivity....but it hadn't been long enough and my PC was still doing stuff.... So I tried turning a light on and as I suspected it didn't come on, the power was out.
Bone.
I was tempted to just leave it and fall asleep but decided to get up and investigate, as did my flatmate. It turned out that there were lights on across the road, but the lights in our close were out and non of the other flats had lights on (although it was 1AM).
I went down the stairs to have a look at the mains inlet to the close to see if anything was obviously wrong. When I got down there I found that the close door open (as is far too often the case), so I went outside to see if anyone was about. Nope, no one really. Though there were lights on in near by buildings. I went back to the close and without the aid of a ladder I could see that there were two isolation switches which appeared to be in the on position, but something about the mains inlet didn't quite look right, though I couldn't tell what it was and wasn't certain that I wasn't just imagining it. After lighting some candles Richard called the power company and told them to get their bitch asses back in the kitchen and make us some pie.
Ok, he didn't say that, he asked for them to send someone around to fix the problem.
At about 8:50 AM I got a call to the flat from the electrician to let him in. I went down stairs, let the man in and told him what had happened. After a quick glance at the mains inlet to the building he saw the problem. Some cunto had come along last night (while the door was left open) and stole the three 100 Amp fuses that belonged in the three little grey boxes on the wall, thus leaving everyone in the dark. Bastard!
