This page is dedicated to proving that not all young people are 'yobs'. In fact, it is to prove that most young people lead a normal life without harming or terrorising our civilisation.
I was prompted to create this page after reading and hearing a constant drone of complaining towards todays teenagers. There is no way to excuse knife crime, murder and mugging, but the select few who revel in these acts do not represent every teenager or young person living in Britain, or indeed the world.
The Media's representation of todays teenagers has created an uprising of prejudice and hatred towards almost everyone below the age of 20. People cannot group others due to the acts of a few in many. So i call for everyone who feels wronged by the Media to stand up against them. I agree that violence is wrong, but i don't agree with the stereotype that has been created for us. It's wrong, unfair and unjust. Punish the criminals, not their age group.

Lets get things moving.
I've come to the conclusion that something needs to be done to get this place a bit more...interactive. Let's set up a little competeition, and get everyone to design a Display picture for the page.
Nothing too fancy, just something heart felt and related. Just post them all in here and the best one will be put up. Lets just see how it goes before i put a deadline!0 komentarzy 655 dni

[What We Are Here For]
1. We stand for young people to be treated far more fairly. At the moment we are given an automatic 'Go To Jail' whenever something goes wrong. Once again, i agree that those who commit crimes should be dealt with, and they should be dealt with severly. But it is unfair to make a mockery out of all Young People for the wrongs of a select few. Those of us who want a decent life don't want our applications turned down or our ideas laughed at because we are of the same age as those who seek to wreak havoc.
2. We are here as a place for discussion and debate. Nothing heated. Anything that is pointed in a sexist, racist or homophobic manner, or that insults an entire group of people, Ie 'Its all the chavs fault' or 'It's those damn Emos', will be deleted.
3. We are not here to stand up for those who commit crime. This page is for the majority of young people who have, and will, lived a normal life. We stand up for those who wish to make something of themselves. We do not condone violence, abuse or terrorisation.
4. Most importantly, we are here to show the rest of the country, or world, that most young people are good mannered and respectful, and whom deeply loath those that give the media one more excuse to bring young people down.
5. We want the media to understand that, the power the have over readers means many believe every word printed or spoken. This means that their continual barrage of the 'Yob Culture', which has suddenly become a euthamism for 'young people', creates tension between age groups. Condemn those who commit crime, but without creating a description of everyone in the same sinkhole.
Thank You.0 komentarzy 689 dni

- Yes, the lack of facilities create a catalyst for crime.
- There are some facilities, but there could be more.
- On the fence.
- There are enough facilities, and even so, kids should make their own fun.
- There are more then enough facilities, the goverment should now waste money.
-
Do you blieve the parents should be blamed for the childs/teenagers behaviour?
- Yes, it is entirely the parents fault for not disciplining.
- It is partially the parents fault.
- I'm sitting on the fence.
- It is partially the childs fault
- No, it is entirely the childs fault because of their surroundings and friends.

Should the police be given more power to single out and deal with those who cause havoc? Discuss.
przez
Chris - Woojemaflub
If the police could name, shame, single out and punish the culprit, then perhaps this would be dealt with more swiftly. Take for example a modern day class room situation, a student must own up to an act in order to be punished. If that student does not own up, the whole class is punished. This is a smaller scale of the macrocosm that is our society.0 odpowiedzi 98 tygodni -
The few young people who create havoc should be dealt with severly. Discuss.

Chris - Woojemaflub
Do you think that the young people who create havoc, those involved in knife crime, drugs, abuse and mugging, should be dealt with severly in order to create a more friendly enviroment of the majority. If the trouble makers were dealt with, and the police had the power to single them out, then perhaps the veiw on young people would change...?0 odpowiedzi 98 tygodni -
The recent veiw on young people needs to be rethought. Discuss.

Chris - Woojemaflub
Do you believe that the veiw on young people needs to be looked at with more care. Perhaps if people realised that most of us are fun loving, respectful and ambitious people, we wouldn't be heckled as much...?1 odpowiedź 98 tygodni

I think it's fine that the media blames all teenagers. It's pretty obvious that adults don't think ALL teenagers are yobs, most of them perhaps but not all. I don't think any adult could be quite that single minded.
Better to be tarred with the same brush as yobs than for yobs not to be tarred at all. -

Disarming Britain74 tygodnie temuGun and knife crime is headline news and the government has announced some tough new measures - but *still* young people are being stabbed to death.
Do you have any ideas about how to combat street crime?
Come and show your support over at Channel 4’s Disarming Britain page on Bebo - http://www.bebo.com/disarmingbritain - and have your say. -
Chris - Woojemaflub77 tygodni temuI agree fully with you Jonny, and as for Jake...what the hell? The word may have existed before, but never for the reason it does today. In no way is 'yob' a way of life! It's not something to be proud of or live up too! Listen to Jonny, that's the truth there! Although, i must say, i don't feel we are the minority, i just feel that we are the ones who don't make headlines...the Media only tells bad news, why would they print a story saying that, infact, most teenagers are normal expressive people who are disgusted by the actions of the so called 'yob culture'.
In this world, i think it's better to work outside the box in order to fight back, because the Media, ultimately, are on the Yobs side, without them...wheres the news? -
Jonny Bird77 tygodni temuAha,
I have fallen in love with this page already
I am completely in agreement with you - not every single young person vadalises or intimidates. The older population of people have to understand that there are some of us (the minority mind you, which i say with great regret) who look down on these teenagers who go round terrorising the neighbourhoods of the United Kingdom.
I am disgusted with how these people can go around doing what they're doing. I would never dream of vandalising property or causing injury to someone - perhaps that's why i can't see where the entertainment is for someone who does enjoy that. -
