    wembley return for manager

THE new manager is in place and the first team’s sights are now firmly set on pre-season as Celtic prepare to take on some of the world’s finest in the forthcoming Wembley Cup.

Celtic will be the first Scottish club to run out at England’s new national stadium in the three-day competition (July 24 to 26), lining up against Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona and Egyptian giants Al Ahly in what will be the inaugural Wembley Cup.

The old stadium contained a little history and plenty of happy memories for Tony Mowbray, whose last game as a player came in Ipswich Town’s promotion play off final against Barnsley.

A 4-2 victory booked Ipswich a place in the Premier League and Mowbray will be hoping that the run out at the new, multi-million pound Wembley will be a similarly happy experience.

He said: “It’s always an incredible experience to play at Wembley and I’m honoured to be the first man ever to take a Scottish club to the great stadium.

“I have very happy memories of Wembley from my playing days and scoring the equaliser to aid Ipswich’s promotion to the Premier League was a highlight of my career.

“The Wembley Cup gives me the perfect opportunity to test my players against some of the biggest teams in Europe and Africa.

“We have great talent at Celtic and I’m looking forward to seeing them perform against Spurs and Al Ahly before the new season starts.

“The team is excited to be involved in this fantastic weekend of football and I hope all the fans enjoy the spectacle put on for them.”

Fans are able to buy tickets for both of Celtic’s games on July 24 and 26 against Al Ahly and Tottenham Hotspur respectively. Ticket prices start from £29 for a one-day ticket and £50 for a two-day pass.

Tickets are available to buy online now at www.thewembleycup.com

You can also book by phone by calling Ticketmaster on 0844 847 2540 or See tickets on 0871 230 7154.
The match programme will run as follows:

    Friday, July 24
    Celtic v Al Ahly 5.15pm
    Spurs v Barcelona 8.00pm

    Sunday, July 26
    Barcelona vs. Al Ahly 1.15pm
    Spurs v Celtic 4.00pm

Supporters can also find out details and prices for hospitality tickets by visiting: www.wembleystadium.com/events/Hospit... by emailing hospitality@wembleystadium.com or by calling 0844 980 0038

  • MAKE SOME NOISE FOR THE BHOYS!

Will The Bhoy par Will The Bhoy

A word from the Jungle Bhoys...

Football grounds traditionally had areas where fans gathered to sing club songs and create a great atmosphere in support of their team. The Jungle, The Kop and the Stretford End were all famed as places for fans to congregate and sing their hearts out regardless of the opposition and the scoreline. Noise and colour are essential in making Paradise a cauldron for visiting teams and to spur the Bhoys onto victory.

In recent seasons, with the notable exception of European nights and Championship deciders, the atmosphere at Celtic Park has often been missing from the ordinary domestic fixtures. When criticism of individual players and the sound of small bands of away fans can be heard instead of Celtic songs and chants, we're in danger of becoming spectators rather than supporters.

To tackle the lack of atmosphere during these games the North West Curve (sections 443, 444 and 445) in the Jock Stein Upper Stand has been designated by the Club as a singing section for those fans who want to give the team their wholehearted vocal support and keep alive the vital Celtic experience.

It is hoped that over time enough fans will move into this area with the intention of recreating the vocal support once made famous by the old Jungle but, to make this happen we need supporters to relocate to Sections 443, 444 and 445 of the Jock Stein Upper Stand.

If you miss the songs and great atmosphere at the games you can now relocate to the North West Curve to sit with like minded fans and help create an atmosphere that will leave visiting teams and fans in no doubt that they are at the home of one of the greatest supports in the world of football.

If you wish to relocate to the singing section then simply contact the Jungle Bhoys at www.thejunglebhoys.net.
