- Auchinawa is a 3 day Anime Convention, running in the Holiday Inn hotel at Glasgow International Airport from the 14th to the 16th of November 2008. Entry to the event is £40 and gives you access to all our rooms, events and dealers during the con.
The brainchild of a group of diehard Glaswegian anime fans who decided "Let's invite the Southerners up HERE for a change!", Auchinawa ran successfully for the first time in November of 2006, in the Quality Hotel, Glasgow.
As well as the faithful anime favourites of the masquarade, dealers room, video screenings, and games room operated by the lovely folks at DDR:UK (http://www.ddruk.com), we look forward to entertaining you with some uniquely Scottish events, in what promises to be a highlight of the 2008 convention calander.

Gopher Registrations
Auchi is looking for Gophers!
Gophers have to be fully registered for the convention (thats paid aswell) and willing to chip in a little bit of time during the weekend to help run the convention with us.
"We're paying you to come and work for you?"
Not really, you can do the jobs you want to do, but that doesnt mean you sign up and do nothing. We need help to set up rooms, stand vigil during large events, and man doors checking for badges.
"This still sounds like a duff deal"
Well as a Gopher you'll have access to the Gopher Room, a place for you to sit and chill, and whats more, we've stuffed it full of food, sweets and drinks (juice).
"What no alcohol..."
Not in the Gopher Room, but as a Gopher you'll be able to attend the After Auchi Party which only Gophers, Committee Members and Guests are allowed to attend. We pay for all the food and booze and you can party into the small hours, or until a hotel official chips us into the carpark.
"Can I invite someone into the party?"
No. You done the hard work, we're rewarding you! If they want to be a part of it, they've got to help too.

Entries are now being taken for the 2008 Auchinawa Conbook!
If you can draw or write, TASTEFULLY, send it in and maybe your entry will feature in this years conbook, handed out to every attendee when they collect their badge.

Auchinawa SELLS OUT!

hoping this to be my first con >.< bloody can't wait all pumped up right now gawd, im gonna go as sasuke (manga version) an byakuya just coz hes cool lol an a friend gonna try to come also, but well she no clue what to go as yet, so can anyone tell me what to expect if i make it just send a message or something.
