      I'll try and keep this brief, but as you know from my Gap Year blogs that's not my strongest quality. But as the sun sets on The Gap Year 2008, a project that has consumed my life for about eleven months, I thought I'd best say a few words...

      The Gap Year was my first main telly job since leaving university, and I feel extremely lucky and privileged to have landed on my feet with such a fun, challenging and rewarding assignment. Mad props to Pasa and Sean for getting me in, keeping me on board throughout and for allowing so many of our meetings to take place in the "Creation Factory" (ie. the Endemol bar).

      It's been a tough job at times (have I mentioned my 9:00am-12:30am shift last Monday yet?), but contrary to popular belief, I've genuinely enjoyed spending time in the office over the last few months. That's thanks to working with such a good-humoured, creative and lovely team. Special thanks to Jon, Al, Robbie, Nat and Daina for making it so. (It doesn't matter that I've missed people off - none of them come on Bebo anyway...)

      This wasn't intended to be a thank you list, but I must mention the excellent PDs for providing me with so many laughs over the course of the show, and the likes of Moody, Owen and the legendary Anthony P who made all my hard work worthwhile with their comments and reactions.

      But above all else, the reason I felt compelled to write this to blog is to say a big thank you and goodbye to the travellers. Having seen your application videos way back in January, watched your audition interviews ad nauseum, witnessed all the key moments from the last six months of your life, as well as reading your blogs and browsing your photos... I'm genuinely going to miss you guys! But the fact that I count so many of you as personal friends now that this is all over speaks volumes for what a lovely bunch of people you are. Roll on the reunion!

      I urge everyone to watch today's big finale video. It's brilliant, and a fitting end to what has been a hugely entertaining series. Good one, everyone!
