Cabo is consistently referred to as a hideaway for the rich and famous. I don’t buy into this. My question is, if the rich and famous are as concerned for their privacy as the websites and tv shows and magazines make them out to be, how have they become so easily pinpointed to a tiny Mexican city with a 56,000 populace? That’s about the size of a respectable University, and if Katie Holmes or Philip Seymour Hoffman were wandering around campus halls or crashing dorm-parties, someone would surely recognize them. Celebrities do not go to Cabo to disappear. They go to be seen, to vacation, to enjoy Nikki beach, to dabble in the city’s notorious nightlife. There is a reason why Cabo has gained a reputation as one of the world’s premier vacation hotspots. I believe part of it has to do with the fact that every photograph and movie-scene shot there could be summarized by its romantic skyline and unspoiled beaches.

There is no arguing that anyone who visits Cabo will remember it differently from the guy staying across the hall; the waterside balconies at the ME resort cater to those individual experiences. Peering out to the beach and the surf and the rock formations, one will find a memory worth keeping; unless you suffer from memory loss. In that case, you may want to make it a point to visit more than once.

But Cabo is more than just sand and water. There are whales, too. Not the kind that Alaskan Whalers kill and condense down to bottles of expensive perfume, but the native Grey whales that populate the waters right off the Cabo coast. There are even local whale watching charters that offer once in a lifetime opportunities to size up next to the world’s largest mammal.

The great thing about Cabo is that all of its resources and greatest activities are conveniently located from the ME resort, if not right down the beach.
