While sitting round the table late last night enjoying a hearty game of pictionary, my mother with pen furiously to paper sketches a perfect depiction of a gorilla in record time. Even down to the knuckle hair and peeled bannana. So my father-to his credit-began to reel off every monkey subtype known to man- baboon...orang utan... even diane fossey (as things were getting desperate and the clock was ticking). There was no doubt that this was indeed a drawing of one of the tree swinging, fruit munching apes we all know and love. However, which one ,was a mystery to us all. At this point my mother was near hysterical, and even my brother and I were screaming suggestions at the board. The paper thick with ink, the air full of rage at our incompetence...mum finally, and rather sheepishly realised the root of our inability to fathom the one creature she was looking for-'wait...eh...a cheetah isnt actually a monkey is it?'1 commento 846 giorni
