What is happening with Damien?
So much has changed in the last wee while. I have decided to stay in Wellington until the end of february, where after i will take a four week holiday before crossing the ditch to australia. Firstly, I will be taking myself on a one week holiday to Samoa (for sun sea and sand). For those who don't know where Samoa is; it is a tropical island in the heart of the pacific. jealous much!!!!!!!! I know you might say going on holiday, but I have been working my ass off lately. LOL!!!! after that i will be making my way back to new zealand for two weeks to explore what the south island has to offer. yeah i know been here 7 months now and i haven't left the north island. then when i get that over me I will cross the ditch to oz, brisbane to be more precise. i have done the whole backpacking thing already in oz, so it wont be a holiday per se but a chance for me to recoup the funds once again before i cross the pacific to usa which i will explore for a while and then make my way back home to "good old ireland" (ps: apparently ireland is the 6th happiest country to live in, does somebody want to clarify that? lol) so expect to see be back sometime next year, but dont hold me on that lol.0 Comments 238 weeks

The Decision to Stay Down Under
Hey all it has been a while since I wrote on my blog. But for those of ye you haven't heard yet, I have decided to start a permanent venture down in New Zealand. Main reason been I love it so much down here and I don't want to leave. Also the auld recession at home makes me think twice about moving home. So getting all the necessary info together for work permit now. man there is so much to do, lets hope it wont take too long. will have to get a job offer first thou. have been a temp at same place now for six months, they recently post for a permanent member, so I said why not and have applied. Keep ur fingers and toes crossed that all goes well.
if all that doesn't work out I will be staying in New Zealand until my current visa expires in March and then venture over the ditch to Oz for a year.
as for the rest all is going well. still living with the two irish chicks. you might say i'm blessed (but after 5 monthsi sometimes wonder am i???).

Life in Wellington
I've been keeping myself busy of late with work and moving in a house. Living with two irish chicks. its a bit of craic with the 3 of us always winding each other up. bit of friendly irish banter, its killed nobody yet. we've been living together the last month and it has been all fun, so far!!!
went to ireland game last month. it was mighty craic. paddy's day all over again. met loads of people. the atmosphere was electric!!! everybody was shouting, cheering, booing just to keep ourselves warm. it was like sitting in a freezer for 2 hours.
heading to another rugby match this weekend. all black versus south africa. kinda only decided today that i was goin. should be a good game. this time ill be supporting the all blacks. hope the weather is betr this time round, although i somewhat doubt it wil be cos the weather is just shocking the last week or so.
as for work still at the same job, it is going wel. can be boring but there is some of that in every job. im contracted for another 2 months with possibility of an extension. the idea of emigrating here is growing by the day especially with things so bad at home.
am looking at doing postgrad in teaching down here. there have some good courses and it will cost around the same as doing it at home. who know what will happen.

hi stranger im good in sydney at the minute we arrived in january, i was teaching at home did the dip last year so now im waitin on my teacher number to come through cause cant teach in public schools only in private ones only did a day of teaching here so far hopefully it'l come through shortly, im doing traffic controlling to fill in the time and for a bit of money we were planning on staying here til may and going up the coast but the way things are lookin we'll be stayin here a bit longer just to be certain of money. how are things with you?? how long are you gone for?? say ill be here as long as i can going home in the next while would just be depressing..
