- In October 2005 Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen was kicked out of Nightwish.
She began her solo career in December 2005 and went on to release her second solo album on the
19th of November 2007.(The first one being in Finnish "Henkäys Ikuisuudesta")
The new singer of Nightwish Anette Olzen, has brought a different genre to the band.
Their old genre included Gothic metal & Symphonic power metal.
Now they portray a different genre.
Please stop bitchin'.

yeah but guys u have 2 admit that annete sings some of the old songs better than tarja....sacrament of wilderness......she has fully removed the gothic genre about Nightwish and im happy there not know as a gothic band any more.......dont hate me
Who said Nightwish were like Tokio Hotel? Tokio Hotel are pathetic excuses for music, even by pop-rock standards. Paramore are okay but Nightwish kick there asses a hundred times over, Anette is a better frontlady than Haley Williams. Amaranth is the 'poppiest' song on the record, pretty much everything else is different.
I like both forms of Nightwish, and I like Tarja's solo work too although she does seem to be somewhat down to covering Nirvana and Alice Cooper. Still I would like to see her in concert sometime.
Nightwish have always been amazing - but I think they were better with Tarja. Annette's a good singer, but I think Tarja is better. I personally dont think they should have fired Tarja but oh well.

I hate the fact that people STILL complain about her not being in Nightwish.
They're human beings, they can do what they want! She wanted to leave, anyway! It's been over 3 years now and I can't beleve how PATHETIC some of the 'nightwish fans' can be!

And Tarja wasn't kicked out without good reason. The letter is on the Nightwish website, and it explains why she was fired.
I love Tarja as much as the next Nightwish fan, but I really wish people would stop bashing the new Nightwish.
Nobody's stopping you having a Tarja fan club, but honestly, you don't have to say that Nightwish are 'pop' just because she left.
i think Tarja rocks and i would love to meet her.
I love nightwish but when Tarja did leave it changed and became more popish.

nightwish completely changed when she left. kicking her out was the biggest mistake they ever made

Twas in Helsinki last Tuesday =]
She was so friendly!
and spent ages with us!
we talked about purfume and make up and clothes and hair!
So I think I've just proved the
"Tarja dismisses her fans" thing Tuomas said to be wrong
as I've met him and he wasn't nice at all he couldn't get away quick enough!
And she put on such a great show!!
Yes her own music mightn't be as good as with nightwish's
But watching her live you can clearly see how happy and free she is
compared to with nightwish and yes i would rather her with nightwish as i feel with anette the uniqueness of nightwish is lost, but with nightwish its clear in the live shows Tarja was just there for a job...if she didn't enjoy her time with Nightwish of course she was going to be hateful and bitchy at least now she's doing the style of music she enjoys and is happy.
And now nightwish are happy so it works for everyone.

i guess she is happy enough in charge of her career tho so maybe its better? her solo stuff is still good
if u love Tarja and want rock and metal to unite the way Nightwish wouldn't with Tarja then join this political party!
