Finally graduated in 2006 with a 1st in Forensic Science. Also got married to Mark and became an Auntie to my sister's wee boy Greg. In 2007 I got a new niece, Neve. My next niece and god-daughter arrived on the 17th Dec 2007 (Hi Nina!) and my newest niece Abi arrived in April 2008. And Moyra had her baby, a gorgeous girl called Ava.

My special little boy Malcolm was born 4 weeks early on the 24th Nov 2008. He's perfect!!! I can't imagine (or even remember) life without him!

I'm now back working at the Macaulay Institute as a research assistant, part time, and also as a Virgin Vie consultant. Phew!

Seen quite a few now - Alanis Morrisette, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Willie Nelson, Tegan and Sara x2, Newton Faulkner, Counting Crows x3, matchbox20, James Blunt x3, wildhearts x2, ginger, barenaked ladies, meatloaf x2, deacon blue x4, bryan adams x4, bon jovi x4, Kylie, Jason Donovan x2, Take That, New Kids On The Block, Toploader, Travis, Elton John, Kris Kristofferson, Jason Mraz, Therapy, Jools Holland and heap of support acts, some good, most awful!! almost saw the feeling but totally missed their set!

my precious little boy Malcolm, being a mum, Greg learning new words, Abi's beautiful smile, chocolate, being able to drink again, getting back into the Virgin Vie swing of things
Up and coming stuff
lots and lots of Vie at home fundraisers and Xmas parties. oh, and Malcolm's birthday, and Xmas!
She's only happy when
she's dancing! also when I'm chilling out, with my baby boy, spending time with family, dining out and catching up with faraway friends. And hanging out with fellow Virgins, especially when business is on the up. and playing with Greg and Abi of course!

      and vote for the Hip Bumpers of Keith (Woman magazine award for best charity/voluntary project) to receive a National Lottery Award. They are the only group left in the whole process from Scotland

      Hip Bumpers started in September 2006 to give mainly older and disabled people in the North East of Scotland the opportunity to exercise through dancing. It was set up by a group of 'groovy grannies' who not only wanted to keep fit in a fun way but also help other people to get out of the house and make new friends.

      The group meets weekly at a local community hall in Keith, Moray, and pay £1 to learn new dance routines before socialising over a cup of tea.

      Lottery funding enabled Hip Bumpers to set up a website and buy equipment for their weekly sessions and events. The money also went towards costumes and the hire of professional dance teachers so the group can learn a new global dance - everything from Thai to Polish routines - every month.

      Hip Bumpers also visits care homes, hospitals and Women’s Institute groups to get older people up on their feet and dancing. The group has had 73 bookings for 'gigs' – many of which are return visits – and also perform at festivals and galas across Scotland.

      The group's founder, Dot Bremner, who will be 70 this year and is partially sighted, says the group has had a great impact on its audience: "When we first go into some care homes, the residents are sitting in a circle looking glum, but by the time we leave the place is filled with laughter with everyone chattering away. They have had about an hour of exercise almost without noticing."

    • Gigs gigs gigs

      well i've been to see heaps of stuff in the last wee while so thought I'd write a wee bit about it.

      17/6 - Whitesnake and Def Leppard. absolutely amazing! classic rock at it's best. this is one of the best gigs I have ever been to and they packed out the SECC. Let's get rocked!

      20/6 - The Bacchae. this was a play on at HMT. Alan Cumming is a lovely lovely man. This was an excellent production staged by the National Theatre of Scotland and I would thoroughly recommend it.

      21/6 - Bon Jovi. I missed the entire set of the Feeling who was supporting but I had to eat and I'm not just feeding myself any more! Hampden was wet but we were safe and dry up in the South stand. Bon Jovi were good but not as good as I've seen them before. they covered Hallelujah tho, which more than made up for it.

      24/6 - Tegan and Sara. The support band, An Horse, were actually quite good. We got seats right at the front which was good until some twat stood in front of me :( Tegan and Sara were excellent but the crowd was full of dickheads and security had no control. I'd think twice before going back to the ABC

      30/6 - Wedding Singer. This was ok but it wasn't helped that it started 30mins late and a technical glitch saw the safety curtain being brought down half way thru the 2nd half. Not bad overall but not the best I've seen. I must say tho, the final scene in the aeroplane was excellent.

      nothing on now till Lest We Forget at the Lemon Tree on Sunday....

Before long these once-favourite discs and cartridges end up on a shelf at home... unwatched, unplayed and unloved! By donating these old DVDs and games to Starlight, hundreds of seriously ill children can have a very special wish - giving them and their families a magical experience and special memories to share - whatever the future may hold.

      The SUN Donate-A-Disc Appeal for Starlight is raising money to grant wishes to seriously and terminally ill children across the UK by recycling and reselling your old DVDs and console games.

      We hope that this exciting and unique appeal will help Starlight grant wishes to 1,000 very sick children.
      YOU DONATE THE DISCS, WE CREATE THE DREAMS

      All you have to do is:

      * Go through your DVD and console game collection and decide which ones you want to donate
      * Take them down to your nearest Blockbuster store from 1 October to 31 December 2007.
      * Starlight receives a cash donation for every disc you donate
      * If you donate four or more discs at one time, you will get your next five rentals for only £1.50 each
      * Plus you can win £500 for your school. 20 prizes up for grabs!

      They accept donations of films on DVD (excluding newspaper DVD giveaways) and games for the Xbox, XB360, PSP, PS2, PS3 Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, DS and Wii. Donations will be accepted up to 31 Dec 2007.

      Hiya chum,
      Am missing you all loads already !!!!!!! I had to work on New Years day so Hogmany was a bit of a washout........hey ho.
      10lb !!!! He will need a new Dons kit when i get home ha ha. Was saying to Shirlee that we might try to do a webcam Skype on Sunday, but she is working, will get it organised though.
      Internet been down here for past three days, think it's cos the new President was being sworn in yesterday and the world press were using up most of the bandwidth here, the Comms here are shit at the best of times but even our mobiles were crashing !!!!
      Keep well, stay safe, say hi to my loon and give Malcolm a huge Grandaq cuddle.
