- John is the Chairman of the Scottish Youth Parliament and was the first teenager ever to be appointed to this position. Although he is only 20, he manages a team of staff, most of whom are in their 30s. John hopes to run for office next year and is studying for a Politics and Sociology degree. John says one of his main aims in life is to tackle child poverty in the UK. John says he'd like to see a revival and attitude change towards red-haired people in the world and he would also like to show the world that being intelligent and politically active doesn't mean you have to be boring or geeky.

Housemates are struggling with John's sense of humour...0 Antworten 98 Wochen
It may only just be midday, but it's clear that housemates aren't getting much synapse action as they struggle to get John's joke.
"What's ET short for?" asked John with a smirk in the living area.
"Extra Terrestrial," said Amy proudly, as if taking part in a pub quiz.
"No," said John laughing, "It's 'cos he's got no legs."
"Huh?" grunted Amy.
"He has got legs," said Anthony, sounding just as confused.
"He has feet and knee things, and that's it," said John in an attempt to explain the joke, but it was too late.
The joke had died - no autopsy necessary. Did that stop John continuing to explain?
Er, no...
