Walking down the only road I've ever known...

The third BC5 LAN Party during my time at this college, the second one that I'm mainly in charge of. We have almost everything ready, but talks with other members of the bofhclan (if you don't know, don't ask) resulted in the idea of adding internets access this time. My WRT54Gv6 router's ("The Fargate") firmware has been changed to the third-party "DD-WRT" firmware and it has a "client bridge" option in the settings. This is what I want.

I'm a computer science student, not a networking student!
I mean, yeah, I've taken Intro to Networking and I'm taking Networking I next semester as well as setting up a small home network as soon as (the parts for) my custom-built PC ("The Overmind") arrives, but still!

I'll have help, I'm sure. I just can't shake this feeling that I'll suggest something stupid that obviously won't work.
But hey, that's how we learn, right?

Everything is going to be fine.
Last semester, we managed to throw together that and a presentation for the Senior Center on the same day. We only have the LAN party to deal with today. If I just go around and make sure that everything has been taken care of after class tomorrow, everything will be fine. Everything will work out.

I hate having to wait and see how things turn out. We lucked out last semester, but what about this semester? What if we don't get very many people to show up? What if we can't figure out how to run the server? What if...what if I'm getting worried over nothing?

Relax.

I have only about half a clue as to how it's supposed to work. Last semester, we had a student stop by that had already graduated from Barton and gone on to Fort Hays State University. He took care of the server as far as I knew; I was ignoring the people playing on PCs and trying to kill the other people playing Halo 2 on X-Box.

I've looked into a few documentation-things, but I'm still mostly clueless. At least this will be easier next semester, though! I'll have this experience, as well as a bit of knowledge from that "Introduction to Networking" class that I'm taking next semester. That will surely make things much easier!

For now, though, I just have to go with the flow and hope everything turns out okay. Here's hoping that nothing goes wrong!
