I have had a few private messages recently about adding people in Mafia Wars and how they cant get it to work.
It is a problem on the Bebo version of Mafia Wars and I have managed (with a lot of help) to find out how to get around it. Depending on what browser you are using the process can change but as far as I am aware this one will work on them all.
It will seem like a hassle the first few times you try it but trust me, after a couple of times doing it, it will only take about 30 seconds to add someone and it does work every time.

The first thing to do is to create a new text document on your desktop. Open it up and then copy and paste the following text into it:

 85359c6c234f6&xw_controller=recrui
 t&xw_action=accept&user_id=

This is an address to type into your address bar and you will regularly need to use it so keep it somewhere thats easy to access.

When you first open your Bebo account and you have a request from someone on Mafia Wars, instead of clicking accept the invitation click on the persons name and it will take you to their profile page.
In the address bar it will say something like

http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp? MemberId=9309962439
(Thats mine by the way)

The part you are interested in is the number after the = at the end of the address.
In this case its 9309962439
What you have to do is copy that number. Once you have it highlighted and copied, open up the text document that you created earlier and paste that number in at the end.
You will now have a text document with the following text in it:

Highlight the entire text and copy it.
Return to your Bebo homepage (still do not accept the invite) and then open Mafia Wars.
In the address bar at the top of the screen it will say:
http://apps.bebo.com/mafiawars/

Click on the address bar and it will highlight the address, right click it and paste.
Now the text from your text document will be in the address bar and all you need to do is press enter.
It will take you to a new screen and you will have a msg telling you that you have added someone to your mafia and that they have been added to yours. Repeat this for every person that you wish to add.

Once you have added a person their invite will still be there on your Bebo homepage. You can now accept it to clear it form your list.
