- The popular Pole signed for Celtic in the summer of 2005 from Legia Warsaw and immediately became a firm fans’ favourite. He won the SPL and League Cup during his debut season and was then outstanding as Poland’s No.1 at the 2006 World Cup in Germany. An athletic shot-stopper and genuine personality on and off the park, Boruc then continued his superb form in the 2006/07 league and Scottish Cup double-winning campaign. Meanwhile, in the UEFA Champions League, stunning saves against the likes of Manchester United and AC Milan cemented his reputation as one of European football’s best goalkeepers. He has again been a key player for Celtic in the early part of the 2007/08 season, with his penalty shoot-out heroics against Spartak Moscow putting Celtic into the group stages of this season’s UEFA Champions League.

• Goalkeeper celebrated his 28th birthday on Wednesday, February 20, the same day Celtic took on Barcelona.
• He joined Celtic in June 2005 from Legia Warsaw and in January this year signed a new deal that will see him remain at Celtic until at least 2011.
• He has won 21 caps for Poland and is set to play for his country at the forthcoming Euro 2008 tournament in Switzerland and Austria.
• This season, 2007/08, Artur has had 15 clean sheets in his 41 games.
Overall, he has 50 clean sheets in his 132 games for Celtic.
• He has won two League Championship medals with Celtic, as well as a CIS Cup medal in 2006 and a Scottish Cup winner’s medal in 2007.
• Artur was out of action for most of December 2007 after undergoing knee surgery.

Celtic have placed Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer at the head of a list of potential replacements for Artur Boruc.
Polish No1 Boruc remains a £10million target for European champions AC Milan, despite signing a new contract recently. And Australian World Cup keeper Schwarzer has been identified as a ready-made replacement.

artur borucs international career is in seriouse trouble as he has put on weight and is not at his best shape the coach of the national team said wen he saw him he thaught he was pregnant
he has been told to get back into shape or he wont be playing for the poland national team again it is thaught that the weight is due to being on a drinking binge threw the loss of his wife and child
the polish goal keeping coach is set to fly to glasgow soon to have showdown talks with the celtic number 1
