My nickname: I became the Gator Girl after a near death experience.
I rolled our riding lawn mower into the rice canal and was pinned under the 800lb mower & 3 feet of water. Although I was both in shock & beginning to black out, I stayed calm. I wasn't ready to die yet, Robert & I'd only been married three months. I eventually managed to free my right leg and arm, & crawl up the canal bank and to the house to call for help.
Robert says there's no way I should have survived, and named me "The Gator Girl" in honor of our alligator sighting a few hundred yards upstream just five days earlier. Hey- what can I say, I'm a survivor!
