About Me

Tagline
Tis better to burn out than to fade away...
Me, Myself, and I
Should you perchance happen to mention to my wife that you think I may have a slight interest in a little film named Star Wars, she would hit you. Hard. Honestly.

Yep, I'm an easy goin' red-haired (with little patch of grey that the other half takes delight in pointing out) Irish bloke. Not a big drinker tho. I think that may be a mortal sin in Ireland - not too sure on that.

Also enjoy reading, snooker, music, collecting films, collecting a few things based on a small movie about a whiney teenager who gets to play with a sword made of light - did I mention that I have one of those...

Actually I have a room filled with Star Wars stuff. And an attic.

Oh latest interest - swing dancing! Always wanted to learn and now finally getting the opportunity to do so!
The Other Half Of Me
Littlevoice
Music
Beach Boys, anything from the 60's, pop, rock, classical, soundtrax. Anything really as long as its not just noise... Hans Zimmer and John Williams rock!
Films
Do you really need to ask??? BASEketball, Green Mile, Shawshank, foreign stuff like Brotherhood Of The Wolf, animated stuff can't beat a good Pixar flick. Love sci-fi and horror. Star Wars.
Sports
Snooker. Will occasionally sit down and watch an international soccer or rugby match. All in all tho, not too pushed. Can I count Swing dancing as a sport?
Scared Of
Wife when annoyed. Usually when I buy something.
Happiest When
Buying something. Sitting down with the other half and just relaxing.
TV
Oh God, too much to mention... CSIs, Bones, Grey's, er, Smallville, Scrubs, Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Top Gear, Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Simpsons. Too many options...
Books
Lord Of The Rings, anything by Michael Crichton and John Grisham. Oh do you know that there's a huge library of Star Wars books? I do and have em all. Could be why anyone that knows me refuses point blank to get into a game of Star Wars Trivial Pursuit with me.

  • The madness begins...

    Well it happened.

I had hoped that I may get away with it seeing as the weather has been dire; but no, it decided to not rain last night. Joy upon joys.

So out the front I go with multiple plug boards and start the long arduous process of setting up the Christmas lights that go out the front of the house. Let's see... There's

A snowman that lights up and turns his head
A santa that lights up and turns his head
A bear in a santa outfit that lights up and turns his head
A big snowman that lights up
A big santa that lights up
Twinkly lights for two bushes at either side of the front door
Big garland of lights that goes around the front door
    Colourful light up presents
160 twinkly lights in arches that border the garden
Rope light Santa skiing down a hill
    Rope light waving snowman
    Rope light Christmas Tree
    Rope Light Train
    Rope light reindeer
    Rope light sleigh
3 Gold reindeer wrapped up in more twinkly lights
6 little light up Christmas trees
10 poles with light up stars that hang out the top (bout 6 stars on each pole)
8 LED poles with a star on top of each
A hanging star with 5 rope lights streaming out of it
Light up santa in sleigh with two light up reindeer
2 sets of Santa/snowman light up figures (4 on each set)
Cherry lights for a small tree we have out front
A flashing Merry Christmas sign that hangs from a window
Rope light Santa being chased by 4 Rope light reindeer in one window
Light up Santa sleeping on a moon in another window
Light up Santa climbing a rope in yet another window
And of course, the obligatory icicles hanging from the gutter

Now picture trying to find sockets for all of those...

So pretty much my whole evening from 5:30 to 10:30 was spent hooking up the above and hoping they'd all work when they were set up.

    They did!

I may post a pic of the madness very soon.
