- The White Rose was a non-violent resistance group in Nazi Germany, consisting of five students from the University of Munich and their philosophy professor. The group became known for an anonymous leaflet campaign, lasting from June 1942 until February 1943, which called for active opposition to Adolf Hitler's regime.
All six members of the group were arrested by the Gestapo, convicted and executed by beheading in 1943. The text of their sixth leaflet was smuggled out of Germany through Scandinavia to England, and in July 1943 copies of it were dropped over Germany by Allied planes, retitled "The Manifesto of the Students of Munich."

If more wars were faught through peaceful protest then we would solve a lot more disputes, it is just a pity that The White Rose were murdered for what we consider our right.
Joe O, the White rose group were not left-wing red Communists or even socialists, they were a peaceful, protest resistance 10 years after both Oskar Schindler & the German Stalinist party failed to stop Hitler's smaller racist faction. After his suicide both the ex-allies U.S. & U.S.S.R captured his scientists & used their plans to boost their defences against each other.
