- I'm the Music Development Officer at the Tolbooth in Stirling. I love music and just about everything that goes with it. Always at gigs, running gigs or doing a gig.
I book bands to play at the Tolbooth and manage the Tolbooth's recording studio.

Music Photography Workshops
Music photography workshops with award winning professional photographer Brian Sweeney.
Brian has worked for various record labels and publications throughout the world photographing the likes of: Basement Jaxx, Belle & Sebastian, Blink 182, Eminem, Fatboy Slim, Jamie T, Jarvis Cocker, Moby, Mogwai, Mystery Jets, Pete Docherty, Sigur Ros, The Streets, Timbaland and many more.
Learn the art of photographing bands in a live setting and for a photo shoot. Learn about the equipment, the settings, the editing and how to get them published.
£30 for 4 workshops on the 15th, 22nd and 29th of September and the 6th October. Workshop fee includes admission into Reloaded festival (3rd Oct). Must have own digital camera but not necessarily an SLR. Each night is 7pm till 9pm.

Free lecture on How To put a tour together
"How to Tour" | Free Seminar
On the 5th June (7pm till 9pm) we've got Martin Atkins coming to the
Tolbooth to deliver a free seminar on "How to Tour" and promote his new
book Tour:Smart.
Martin Atkins is the definition of entrepreneurial activity in
cultural arts endeavors, his 30+ years in the music business spans
across genres and borders and industries.
He was a member of Public Image Ltd and Killing Joke. He founded
industrial supergroup Pigface, The Damage Manual, and Murder Inc., and
has contributed to Nine Inch Nails and Ministry. He is the owner of
Invisible Records and Mattress Factory Recording Studios (est. 198
. He
is the author of Tour:Smart, a Suicide Girls columnist, and a full time
lecturer at Columbia College Chicago. Martin is a producer, drummer,
documentary film maker, DJ, and not to mention a father of four.
This event should be a must for any local band/musician looking to get out and

Daytime information sessions for bands and musicians.
Top music industry professionals discuss issues such as: the digital possibilities for unsigned bands, marketing and “how they broke into the music industry” whilst also giving selected acts the chance to play live in front of the A&R panel.
Reloaded gig at night with the critically acclaimed The Phantom Band.

1. A presentation by Eamonn Forde (Music Week/The Word Magazine) entitled “From the grassroots to the charts: tips for new bands on how to market themselves”
2. Marketing seminar with Eamonn Forde (Music Week/The Word Magazine), Alex Papasimakopoulou (Everymatic PR) and Vic Galloway (BBC Radio 1)
3. “Starting Out”, an interview with Stevie Jackson (Belle and Sebastian) and Kenny Anderson (King Creosote) discussing entry to the music industry, the pitfalls and what to do differently today.
Then 6 local bands will have the chance to play at the A&R Sessions with

hey stephen,william from aisle11 here, we really enjoyed the tolboth last time we played there, is there any openings for us to come back, we ditched all our old songs sacked a member and got a new drummer, and have a whole new set, we've just played 3 nights in glasgow and in a few in stirling and would love the chance to play here again
