What we've learned in Australia...

-Ayer's rock is in fact a "mountain"
-Goon is sick, but somehow we drank bags of it!!
-Goon bags can be made into pillows. And used during Fraser Island.
-COLLABAH means something to you.
-You or someone you know have fallen off the table at Cheeky Monkeys!!
-Nimbin is like a distent haze or dream. Although, you do remember that wacked out "weed museum"
-Vegemite was possibly used once and then never again.
-Peanut Butter and Nutella become your life and you ate it with everything!!
-You remember the Mccafe??
-"Oi, You Happy?, How you going? Eazy Mate and Cheers" became part of your daily slang.
-You swam in the Airlie Beach pool when drunk, even AFTER the warning against it and the warning was NOT for drunk swimming but for....!! ewww haha
-"Clancy's famous for pies" means something to you.
-You miss 24Hour liquor stores.
-Wore thongs, broke a thong and knew what a thong was.
-Met more Irish friends then Australian. And then settled in with the fact that you were in "Ireland" lol
-Became comfortable with the mullet hairstyle.
-Also became used to leggings, and belts strapped in uder the boobs.
-Remember the Woolshed in Cairns
-Snorkeling or diving the Great Barrier.
-Lake McKenzie, Champaigne Pools, Tiger Sharks and Dingo's on Fraser Island.
-Sailing the Whitsundays
-Sunset at Byron Bay.
-Surfing, Trying to Surf, getting worked.
-The awesome stinger suits in the Whitsundays Island!!
- very long greyhound bus journeys that took hours to do but on the map you went only a milimetre
- learnt to drink goon through a snorkel then realise if do it too much it will come back through the snorkel too! not a pretty way to feed the fish!
- Eating magic noodles for lunch and dinner when you find out you've got fuck all money left!!
- Australian bed bugs are EVIL!
- Australian sunburn is different altogether.
-A pint feels huge in your hand after drinking pots.
-A Goon hangover is different altogether.
-Kings cross prostitutes are not the people to talk
-the long and exhausting walk up to byron lighthouse...
-cockroaches on the hostel floor...
-learning that no bar in england beats Rosie O'Gradys, harbourside and cheeky monkeys, fact.
- You realise that Fruity Lexia soon becomes Fruity 'Dyslexia'
- being woken up by a kangeroo at three in the morning whilst asleep outside on a homestead, in the middle of the outback. and the most amzing sunrise the next morning
- The fear of sunbathing on the beach as your next to a 'WARNING RECENT CROCODILE SIGHTING'
- Neighbours is a lot more popular in England than it is in Australia!
- It's a backpacker, not a hostel!!!
- you will always get slated by your mates for calling one of them cash machinesthings an ATM!! And for calling the local off licence the bottle shop!!
- Tim Tam Slams are the only way to eat Tim Tams.
- and you can save money in grocery stores by
-waiting till they discount the pizza buns at night
-eating food that gets weighed (like grapes) before checkout
-drinking bottled drinks in the store..whoops
- That you can spend days with some people, that will end up be your friends forever more.
- bricking yourself when you drive in sea water on frasier island is irrational
- slurping tea out of a tim tam and then golping it is the best
-Air con saves lifes!
- Fans are useless in queensland.
- The great barrier reef isn't rite next to the shore
- that havaianas can be worn day or night, to the beach or clubbing...without havaianas you are nothing!
- that Sydney bouncers will not let you in wearing aforementioned havaianas no matter how hard you beg!
- that there is no shame in raiding the free food shelf and making an entire meal from food that isn't yours.
- that taking the RSA course is a complete waste of money cuz beyond sydney there is no need to know so much about alcohol laws...no one cares!
- that fruit picking is a definite last resort and should be avoided if at all possible...the fond
