My Nisga'a name is K'eexkw, It litereally means to run away. My clan is called Gitwiln'aak'il. I am married to Mrs Nita Morven. We have two beautiful children, Charles and Maureen, they have both blessed us with loving grandchildren, they are, Marlyn and Peyton.
Music
i love listening to semi-classical music. i used to do homework while i listened to henry manchini.i enjoy jiving to fats, jerry lee lewis, sachemo and elvis presley. waltzing to boots randolph.
Films
the mission was good for me. a river runs through it i found helped me to live and love what i do.
Sports
i participated in basketball, soccer, fastball, volleyball and some track and field events as a young man. today only my brain works fast.
Scared Of
one of my fears is that a lightning bolt would strike the car that i maybe driving. i saw a lightning bolt stay until it turned orange. as if it was waiting for me to get to it.
Happiest When
when marlyn and peyton came into our lives was the happiest time in my life. i became a real ye'e, not a neighborhood ye'e.
favorite activity
looking for sacredness in nature and others lives so that i too will recieve goodness.
teaching
today my role is to assist in maintaining our nisga'a language so it is not lost to us. this is difficult because english, t.v. and other forms of tecnology may be more interesting for others.

      'ksi-kwiyee , 'ksi -out of, kwi - around , yee - to walk, this term in its literal form denotes the process of stepping away from and walking around to see from every possible angle. this is done to allow a deeper and a whole understanding of a word ,a picture , a direction , a gift , an offer of assistance . carvers, leaders, parents and teachers apply this term to their lives.
      luu- gwilks- 'nakws , luu -into, gwilks- back to ,' nakws- to reach. this term in its literal form denotes the process of going back to where you have come from to look and see if there is a need to improve on or to re-employ to enhance a present project. again this term allows one to review an activity for improvement. to bring forward information to support a direction to improve a community's life-style.
      luu-gwilksgus, luu- into, gwilks- back to, gus- jump. this term in its literal form denotes the process of jumping back into where one just came from. to jump back into something, is to protect it.

      'ksiwok : ksi - out of, wok -to sleep. ksiwok is our word for dreaming. the literal translation makes me wonder how our ancestors arrived at this word to say that it means " to dream. " do we leave our bodies when we dream? are we connected to our spirits when we dream? was it our spiritual leaders who gave us words to explain our experiences through our dreams? is a dream a physical as well as a spiritual journey?

      i would like to share my thoughts on how some elders applied wisdom to the process of providing "si aamhl wilsi'm." 'wahlin saxwgum hii gook used to say "aamhl jabin ii 'kam ji mi tkal huksa'anhl ..... dim ii aamt loo'm." the late adam nisyok used to say,"you did well, if you had included...... it would have benifitted all of us." he did not say "you were wrong in how you carried out your responsibility." he was always positive when sharing a better way. each elder i listened to after asking for an answer to a question, provided encouragement, and refocused me in a direction to find my answer. for the longest time this happened. each time i shared my finding with them they would say "'tooyaksi'y 'niin ahl wil mi tkal yeetinhl gan siwilaakinsgwi'y." " i thank you for adding to my knowledge base." our elders are always looking for us to apply our findings to our lives. for them this is living your truth. living to teach. we all have a responsibility to recognize the good that accompanies our negative encounters bring to our lives. when we apply this often forgotten step , we evolve to a better world. learning from our elders is like learning from a math teacher. math teachers share a solution. they never give you the answer. when i need support in an encouraging way and there is no one near by to ask, i ask this question of myself."what would our parents do? how would our aunts and uncles resolve this issue to ensure that it is benificial to all who may be in the same place in life?" i pray that you who take the time to read and understand this short thought will be encouraged to share your wisdom. si aamhl wilsi'm. ii haagwil huu wilsi'm. ii simgit wilsi'm.

      My Babi Baba,
      How are you? I am sitting here listening to a Mariachi band on the beach. Life certainly brings such joy and at times sadness, but I guess that's what makes us appreciate it more.
      I will be home near the end of august. First stop will be in Wrangell in june to work for the summer.

You are encouraged to set aside those who do not support you and turn to those that do. .Learn to look at your ability to stand alone on the strength of your convictions as a gift and not a curse.
