- We are THE student group at Massey University in Palmerston North for people who are either queer* or questioning their sexuality. We have regular meetings during the year, organise events, head to the movies, go bowling, occasionally get political, but generally kick back and have fun.

THANKS PEEPS!!!
PRIDE WEEK is now officially over for the year!!
On Monday, we put up posters and fliers around Massey, and gave out lollipops and stickers for Blue Jeans For Queer Awareness.
On Tuesday Jeff and Hannahbess spent hours baking and decorating cupcakes, and then we had a Queer mini-movie-marathon with tons of junk food up at the MaLGRA clubrooms in the evening, which was fantastic - great turnout!!
Wednesday was the big day, doing the cupcakes on concourse and giving away big gay balloons. We made a big noise, got a lot of really positive feedback, and had a blast in the process!
Thursday was a quiet day, giving us all a well-deserved rest before...
On Friday night we had a big gay party at Jeff's... again, great turnout, everyone was well behaved and had a good time (hahaha...well behaved, right??) and then we moved on to the club to boogie!!
Thanks y'all for showing up and helping out - you made it a great Pride Week and I think we succeeded in making ourselves noticed and, more importantly, having fun!! I want to say thanks to everyone who helped out on Wednesday, with handing out fliers, stickers, cupcakes and lollipops, and for writing on the balloons, it went really well!!
Special thanks to have to go to Gareth and Hannahbess, for driving around playing chauffeur thru the week, dropping things off, picking stuff up, and especially for walking around handing out the balloons around the campus on Wednesday... important job, can be a bit scary, and you guys got out there and did it, and did a fab job too!!
Huge special thanks to Seth, for all his behind-the scenes work and coordination this Pride Week, for looking after the finance side of things, arranging the bubble machine and helium tank hire, for going out of his way to get the club open and set up on Tuesday, and just generally being a legend
SUPER huge special thanks have to go to Jeff, for letting us use his place for baking the queer cupcakes, running around pricing and buying the ingredients, for all his efforts in actually baking and decorating them, and for allowing us to have our partay at his place last night. Dude you're AWESOME!!
So that's it for another year!!!
Just so y'all know, UniQ will be meeting this coming Tuesday, at 7pm up at MaLGRA, I feel like maybe we need to do something that involves no stress, so how about we go to a cafe or to bowling? Let me know what you reckon
Last but not least, Hannahbess, Jeff, and everyone else who's done errands for us this week, can we get all Pride Week receipts to Seth ASAP so we can work out who spent what, and get reimbursement arranged?? Cheers.

GAY BASH!! OUT-RAGE!!
Hey everybody!!
This Friday night, from 8pm, we're having our "GAY BASH!! OUT-RAGE!! party to finish up Pride Week!!
It's BYO alcohol, and it would help if people can bring snacks or a plate too, we'll put on some food but the more the betterer!!
We've had an awesome week, we've made a lot of noise for the cause and even more cupcakes!! Thanks to everyone who's helped out, and especially Seth, Hannahbess, Jeff, Gareth, Geoff, Meada, Becca*.... well, there's too many of you to name, but it's been super fab!!

Big Squishy Gay Hugs!!
Hey everyone!!
Just a quick note to say thanks to everyone who came along and lent their time and energy to the uniQ PRIDE stall today... it was a raging success, everyone had a great time and we definitely made people notice us!!
Special thanks have to go to Gareth and Seth, for organising and collecting the bubbles and balloons, and especially to Hannahbess and Jeff, for all their hard work baking and decorating the cupcakes (which, by the way, I've had really good feedback about - people loved them, so well done you two!!)
I think you all did a really fantastic job, so thanks everyone who blew up balloons, wrote on them, handed them out, and gave away fliers, stickers, lollipops and cupcakes... we couldn't have done it without you!!
You ROCK!!
Now we have a party to organise for friday!!

Sexual Re-Orientation is MAWSA UniQ's biggest event of the year. Featuring Wellington's campest superstars, The Glamazons – New Zealand's highest profile drag act. Fresh from head-lining the Frocky Horror Late Show at Hamilton's Fuel Festival the girls will be rearing to paint the town pink!
Sexual Re-Orientation will showcase their brand new show featuring 'dissapear', their most ambitious video to date. The evening will be hosted by local gay icon/ tv personality, Big Bold and Beautiful with special guests the New Zealand Safe Sex Poster Boys.
This event is open to both queer and straight students and the wider queer community.

Hey everybody!!
Only about a month to go til Semester One starts... excited?
We're looking for volunteers to give us a hand with Clubs Day on campus, I think it's the first Wednesday of the the semester, which would make it the 27th Feb, from about 11am til 1pm (or two, depending on how many people are around).
You won't have to stay the whole time, maybe just pop in for a while and stand at the stall, give out pamphlets etc to people who show an interest and eat the Labour and Greens stall's lollies (we usually find ourselves set up in fairly close proximity to the political tents).
Let us know if you're free and interested in hanging out on Clubs day!! It'll be a laugh.
