ON THE DAY OUR LORD WAS CRUCIFIED
HE MADE A PROMISE ON THAT DAY,
THAT HE WOULD LIFT OUR SUFFERING
AND TAKE OUR PAIN AWAY.

HE SENDS HIS ANGELS SEARCHING
AND WHEN THEIR FEET HAVE TOUCHED THE GROUND,
THEY CALL TO HIM IN HEAVEN
TO TELL HIM WHO THEY'VE FOUND.

THEY CALLED THE NAME OF ERIC
FOR HIS HEARTBREAK THEY COULD SEE,
THIS MAN WAS BORN ON THE 22TH OF DECEMBER
IN THE YEAR OF 1985

OUR DEAR LORD KNEW WHO THIS MAN WAS
HE HAS SEEN THE TEARS HE'S CRIED,
HE WATCHED HIM WHEN HE WAS A CHILD
HOW HE LOVED TO BE OUTSIDE.

BUT THEN HIS LAUGHTER TURNED TO PAIN
GOD WENT TO HIM AND HELD HIS HAND
HE ASKED HIM WHAT WAS WRONG,
ERIC SAID HE COULDNT LIVE ON
AND FELT HE CAN'T GO ON.

GOD SAW SUCH PAIN INSIDE HIM
HE SAW HIS VACANT STARE,
HE KNEW HIS HEART DEEP IN HIS SOUL
WAS BROKE BEYOND REPAIR.

IF I TAKE YOU TO HEAVEN
WHEN YOUR LIFE HAS JUST BEGUN,
YOUR FAMILY AND GIRLFRIEND WILL FALL TO PIECES
THEY WILL LOSE THEIR KNOWNFULL WORLD.

HE TOUCHED HIS EYES SO HE WOULD SLEEP
LIKE HE HAS FOR MANY OTHERS,
SO HE CAN TAKE HIM TO HIS HOME
WHERE HIS PAIN WILL GO NO FUTHER.

ERIC WILL ALWAYS LOVES US FOREVER,
ND NO DAY IN THE FUTURE GOD WILL BRING US BACK TOGETHER,
UNTILL THAN WE TRY STAY STRONG,
FOR HE HEADED THROUGH THE LIGHT,
HE'LL KISS US ON THE LIPS, WE CANNOT FEEL,
EVERYDAY AND NIGHT.

When tomorrow starts without me,
And I'm not there to see,
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
All filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you would'nt cry,
The way you did today,
While thinking of the many things,
We didn't get to say.

I know how nuch you love me,
As much as i love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.

That an angel came and called my name,
And took me by the hand.

She said my place was ready,
In heaven up above,
And that I'd have to leave behind,
All those that i loved.

But as I turned to walk away,
A tear fell from my eye,
For all my life i'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.

I had so much to live for,
So much left yet to do,
It seemed almost impossible,
That i was leaving you's.

I thought for all the yesterdays,
The good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
And all the fun we had.

If I could relive yesterday,
If only for a short while,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you,
And maybe see you smile.

But then I fully realized,
That this could never be,
For emptiness and memories,
Would take the place of me.

But as I walked through heavens gates,
I felt so much at home,
As god looked down and smiled at me,
From his great golden throne.

He said this is etenity,
And all I've promised you,
Today your life on earth is through,
But here life starts anew.

I promise no tomorrow,
But that this day will always last,
As each day's the same way,
And there's no longing for the past.

You have been so faithful,
So trusting and so true,
Though there were times you did some things,
You knew you should'nt do.

But now you are forgiven,
And now at last your free,
So won't you come and take my hand,
And share my life with me.
