DAMAGED ROAD SIGNS
Overnight on Thursday 13th August, the Marlborough District Council alerted us to a number of road signs that were damaged by being pushed over and bent. It occurred around the Brancott, Brookby, Hawkesbury, Dog Point and New Renwick Roads.
You may well have seen the article in the Marlborough Express on Monday.
Does anyone know who is responsible for the damage?
There are two good reasons why your conscience should make you pass any information to us...
1. The damage has a potentially fatal impact on drivers, especially at intersections. One of these drivers could well be your girlfriend, boyfriend, mother or father, best mate, a life that can't be replaced.
and
2. The cost to replace the signs is a big expense to the Council. That money comes from the rates we all pay or through the rent you pay. So whoever's responsible is forcing that cost onto you.
It may seem like a just a prank matter to some of you which means this blog will be wasted on you, no doubt. However, for those of you to whom this will matter, I urge you to step up and make the person(s) responsible for their stupid behaviour.
Send a private message to us on this site or email me at MMI690@police.govt.nz
Cheers,
Macca.
PS..BEBO update:
We still a few issues with our Bebo site. The main one being is that we are not able to reply to comments posted or posting on our own site. I'm not sure that this will be fixed due to security settings required by police, but we do get your mail and will try and write to our blog a bit more. Keep safe and keep in touch.0 commentaires 123 jours

PROBLEMS WITH BEBO
Hi all,
Just letting you know that we are having problems with our Bebo site in accessing the hyperlinks, which are preventing us from replying to your comments and possibly the private messages as well.
Our head-technical people at I&T in Wellington are aware and currently working on the problem at the moment and hope to have it sorted sometime next week. Hmmm.... !
So in the meantime, keep your comments and messages coming in. I check the site most workdays, now that I'm back more permanently at my desk and I will read any comments posted or messages received and either myself, Dan or Stef will reply back to you as soon as the problem has been fixed.
Cheers,
Macca.

- They should be allowed to stay in town, patched and all. It is a free country.
- They should be allowed to stay in town, but not with their patches on.
- There's no need for ANY gangs in Blenheim, they should disband if they want to stay here.
- No way should any of them be allowed to stay here under any circumstances.

Blenheim PoliceIl y a 2 semainesHi Leanne,
Without being there I'm not sure what the situation was but I would dispute the fact that the officers who were there "just watch(ed)". There is always two sides to an incident (which doesn't always make one side happy) and as I wasn't there it's not appropriate for me to make a comment on what took place. I would recommend though that you encourage your friends to come and see us to make an assault complaint which we can follow up.
Regards,
Macca. -
LeanneIl y a 4 semainesIf Blenheim police are trying to stop violence and crimes in Blenheim, why didnt they do anything about the guys on saturday night that were picking fights with everyone at Maccas? Two of our friends with bad facial bruising and the cops just watch? Whats up wth that?!!

KezIl y a 28 semainesHey there, the new law that is about to be implemented, for the boy racers and the banning of cellphones in cars. Its not all boy racers that are hoons out on our roads. It is also the clever guys/gals, who decide to get behind the wheel and drive drunk, tired and especially those who decide to drive and talk/txt on their cellphone, these clever guys/galz should also have their cars impounded and crushed. Forget about the $50 fine and the deduction of demerit points, just crush them and sell the metal parts for cash.
Skida yeah right, we have been down this avenue already, apart from yourself, do you really think that other boyracers will warm to the idea of racing on a legal track.
But you have a point there, its not only the boyracers.
