Me, Myself, and I
David Daewon Song born February 19, 1975 Korea is a professional, goofy-footed skateboarder. He is recognized for his technical street skateboarding. He co-owns Almost Skateboards with fellow pro Rodney Mullen, and skates for the team.
Daewon was born in Seoul, Korea on Feb. 19, 1975. When he was 13, a neighborhood kid gave him his board. He quickly got some money together and bought a used board. A few years later, a small skateboard company called Gemco came through on a demo tour. They saw him skate, and immediately signed him and took him back to the US.Daewon was first sponsored by World Industries and appeared in their video Love Child in 1992. In 1999 he left World Industries to start his own company Deca.Deca folded and Daewon then started Artafakt Skateboards, which was short-lived, and finally ended up creating Almost Skateboards with Mullen.Daewon received the Thrasher Magazine's Skater Of The Year award in 2006

  • Rodney Mullen vs. Daewon Song

Rodney Mullen vs. Daewon Song is a commercially successful skateboarding video series, featuring noted skateboarders Rodney Mullen and Daewon Song. Three videos were released under this title: Round 1, Round 2, and Round 3

The first video shows Rodney Mullen "competing" against Daewon Song (the two are friends and did not consider this a chance to one up the other). It also has combined parts of the World Industries, A-Team and Blind teams as they were in 1997 when the video was released. Both Daewon Song and Rodney Mullen appear both in their own parts and with small sections of their respective teams' parts.

The second video, Round 2, is slightly different in format. As before, Rodney Mullen and Daewon Song have their own parts, and there are combined parts for the World Industries (which had then split into World Industries and Deca), A-Team and Blind sections. However, there are also short advertisement-like sections throughout the video for the other brands on Dwindle distribution, making the video different from most team videos and more like an issue of a video magazine, like 411VM.

The title of Almost: Round Three refers to these videos, yet it is effectively an Almost video and is considerably different from its predecessors. Almost Round Three not only includes Daewon and Mullen but features others from the Almost Team including Chris Haslam, Ryan Sheckler, Greg Lutzka, Cooper Wilt, and William Patrick.
