- Thank you to everyone who turned up on Sunday to support the acts! It was a fantastic night with over £400 raised for Oxfam! (not as much as we hoped but every little helps)
Thank you to Ian from slowtofade, Ross the sound engineer, Chris the presenter and of course all the amazing acts of the night. Thank you to CARLING and TENNANTS for their donations and to the lovely MEL. Thank you to Pam for taking photographs which will be on this site shortly.
Special mention to DJ Don who played some funky tunes at the Varsity afterwards and helped towards the after party. Also, Fiona, our fun loving camera girl! watch this space for the DVD.....

- Oxjam is Oxfam’s most ambitious music festival ever. The beauty of Oxjam is that hundreds of small events make one huge party. From classical club night, funk and punk, it all adds up to one huge, UK wide Oxjam festival, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds to fight poverty
- 2006
- Many celebrities lent their support to Oxjam in 2006, including Kaiser Chiefs, Badly Drawn Boy, Embrace, Goldfrapp and many more. But the Music Event Organisers were the real stars – building the Oxjam line-up throughout the UK. Their hard work, enthusiasm and innovative ideas combined to make Oxjam such a success in 2006. Oxjam raised an amazing HALF A MILLION pounds in total – a total worth repeating! That’s enough to provide water and sanitation for nearly 700 hundred thousand people, or to build 294 classrooms, equipping a new generation of children with the necessary skills to overcome poverty. And it’s all down to the wonderful people who took part in Oxjam – it really will help to overcome poverty. We want Oxjam to be even bigger and better in 2007!

People in Bangladesh are in urgent need of food and shelter after Cyclone Sidr battered coastal areas of Bangladesh during the night of 15 November.
Oxfam's working now to help 80,000 people with essential things like sanitation, food and water and shelter.
To keep the work going, we're looking to the public to collectively raise £2m.
People have already come together to fundraise and donate.
Being involved in Oxjam - you're in a prime position to use your skills and contacts to keep the fundraising momentum from October going and raise money for this appeal.
So, if you still have the Oxjam bug buzzing in you, fancy taking on a new challenge and want to be part of the movement of people raising money for Bangladesh then why not:
- Organise one more special Oxjam event to raise some much needed cash for this urgent appeal
- Get your favourite music night to put an extra pound on the door for Bangladesh
By pulling your team's efforts and expertise together you can strengthen Oxjam team bonds, put on an amazing event and show what can be done in a short space of time when we all get together behind a cause. Raising money for this appeal is the Oxjam team's number one priority right now so if you think you can do something please let us know about it!
Oxfam belongs to the Disasters Emergency Committee and will receive a share of their Cyclone Appeal funds. If you donate directly to Oxfam, we will receive 100% of your gift, but if you prefer to donate to the DEC
