Hi everyone hope you have all recovered from the weekend!!
Thanks for all the hard work you all put in, now our committee is going in the right direction but we have loads to do!

As promised I’ve typed up the questions that we have so far and I’ve also typed up the timeline so that we know how long we have to get stuff done.
I was thinking about what kay was saying about open ad closed questions and so I’ve put some of the ones that have about 4 bits into one question so we can leave more space and let people write what they want, however if you guys don’t like that we can change it back to open and closed questions for those ones….let me know what you think

Questions(In no particular order!):
1)Have you ever used books or websites for advice on parenting? If so were they useful? Could you recommend any?

2)Do you know of any support groups for pregnant women or new parents/carers? If so would you be comfortable using them? If not why wouldn’t you use them?

3a)In your opinion do you thing additional support should be offered to young parents who have learning difficulties/disabilities or who have children who have learning difficulties/disabilities?
3b)Do you think adequate support is given to these people?
3c)If not how do you feel it could improved?

4)Do you know what your entitlement to paternity/maternity leave is in the workplace?

5)Do you feel the current paternity leave of two weeks is adequate for the child?

6)Do you feel you have been/would be excluded from services and opportunities if you have a young child?

7)What have you/do you expect to receive in terms of health care during or after your pregnancy?

Have you or anyone you know experienced post natal depression?

9)Where if anywhere would you like to receive information and/or support about parenting? (i.e youth service, health visitor, drs)

10)What support did you/have you received during the pre/post natal period?

11)Are you a new parent?

12)what age are you?

13)what area are you from?

14)do you consider yourself disabled?

16)What is your nationality or ethnic origin?

17)what is your marital status?

1 What is your gender?

19)Do you Identify as Lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender?

20)Do you have a religion or belief?


Now for the timeline:

1)Hand in all current research so it can be compiled-Due 18/11/07-completed by most
2)Questions we already have to be typed up and sent out so that people can add to them if they want, we have til the end of the week to get all the questions in-due 23/11/07
3)Draft questions into a consultation and send to all committee members for feedback- between 23/11/07 and 3/12/07
4)Some committee members to “test drive” consultation on young parents-2 week consultation period-due 17/12/07
5)Christmas!!!!! Give yourselves a break to enjoy the festivities!
6)Committee meeting- have results/feedback on “test drive”, any final research must be completed, use feedback to edit consultation so we have your final draft ready for distribution. Discuss ministers meeting/letters-Jan 2008
7)SYP GM-End of consultation period- good idea of pack content so we can start pack design-march 2008
SYP AGM-Pack completed(Or at least nearly there!!!)

How does that all sound? Have I missed anything out or is there anything anyone is unsure of? Drop me and email if you want anything changed or explained.
Ive not put the possible answers in yet or re-worded the questions but that bit will come when it gets made into a draft consultation.
