  • Eleven years and still waiting

A sweet young girl with a loving smile,
She laid down her life for her daughter.
Now flying with the angels and loving the peace,
Back in the arms of her father.

How can you sleep with what you have done,
With tears flowing down her face.
Her empty cries, her swollen eyes,
Only you know her resting place.

What did you do when she appeared to you,
    In your lonely cold dreams?
Did you see her cry or did you wipe her eyes,
Or where you the one who heard her scream?

She knows who you are and where you have been,
    In the past eleven years.
She may have forgiven you for what you have done,
Maybe even wiped away your tears.

The truth is out there waiting to be told,
We are waiting for that day to come.
Do the right thing you are never to old,
To help bring our Fiona home.

The longer you leave it the harder it gets,
Don’t put it off any longer.
For the love we have for our missing angel,
Will only grow stronger and stronger.

Let us pass this endless road,
For what seems like tears forever.
Can we have her home with us,
So we can cherish our memories together.

  • The theft of Fiona's Plaque

A MOVING memorial service paying tribute to the missing Wexford girl, Fiona Sinnott, went ahead despite the callous theft of a plaque that was to be unveiled in her honour.

As gardai launched a major investigation into the theft of the marble plaque, her devastated family declared their disgust at the cruel crime.

Thieves stole the plaque on the eve of the memorial service to mark Fiona's 30th birthday. It was commissioned by her family from a local stonemasonry. It was mounted in a cemetery wall, next door to Butler's pub in the village of Broadway, marking the place where the 19-year-old mother of one socialised with her friends the night before she vanished.

Fiona's uncle and brothers erected the plaque on Friday on the eve of the memorial, cementing it into the wall and securing it with steel bars overnight. Her uncle, Jim, went to check on it at 8am that morning, intending to place white roses around it, only to find it missing.

"It is absolutely disgusting," said Fiona's sister, Caroline. "Who could do such a thing? My uncle had gone down to put flowers around it and make it presentable before the service. And it was gone."

The cruel theft failed to halt the service. Hughes & Sons, the stonemasons who provided the stone, worked "flat out" to make a replacement plaque, free of charge, in time for the service.

The area around the plaque was forensically examined by gardai before the service went ahead. Caroline said at least two people must have been involved in the theft. The heavy marble plaque measured two foot by one foot. Thieves would have had to prise it from the wall and carry it away.

The simple plaque is the closest Fiona's family have to a grave, where they can pray and lay flowers in her memory. Missing since February 9, 1998, she is feared dead. A murder investigation has failed to find either her killer or her body.

Her family and investigators suspect that her killer may be protected by a small group of people in a rural community who have drawn a veil of silence over the affair.

"There are people who we believe have very valuable information in their possession that can assist in the investigation and move it forward," said chief superintendent John Roche in Wexford this weekend. "The file is open and constantly under review. I haven't given up hope."

Fiona was last seen by her ex-boyfriend, the father of her daughter. Fiona had moved to a rented cottage near Rosslare Harbour to be near him, but by the time of her disappearance their relationship had broken down.

On the Sunday night before she disappeared, she was in Butler's pub in Broadway with friends.

Her Ex Boyfriend later told gardai that Fiona was in the house the next morning but left to go to a doctor in Bridgetown. She never arrived at the doctor's surgery. Five days passed before she was reported missing. She had often disappeared before, going off on impromptu trips. But her family found nothing to indicate that she had left the area. Gardai found her belongings intact and her cottage unusually tidy. An exhaustive garda search of lakes, bogs and ditches, proved fruitless.

Years passed before there were any developments in the case. Then information came through to gardai alleging that Fiona's killer had help from others in disposing of her body.

In mid-September 2005, gardai arrested six people over the course of a week, including two women. All were later released without charge. The week of arrests proved traumatic for both Fiona's family and her friends.

As the week drew to a close, the ex threatened his first cousin, early on the morning of September 17, 2005. "You're a dead man," he said, repeating the phrase several times.

Her ex was convicted of threatening his cousin in 2006, even though his cousin withdrew his complaint. He said he had contacted gardai for advice because his cousin was stressed out.

The Sinnott family still struggles to accept Fiona is dead, yet they long to find her

THIS MESSAGE ACTUALLY MAKES U THINK ABOUT WHAT YOUR READIN XX
I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.'

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny,

are you sure I don't have enough moneyω''

The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.''

Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look a round. She left quickly.

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.'

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.'

His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''

My heart nearly stopped.

The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.'

Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me.'

'I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.'

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the dollω''

'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his with out him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.

The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!'

Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!''
'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.''

'My mommy loves white roses.'

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started.

I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl.

The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.

Was this the family of the little boyω

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine.

And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

Will you think again before you drink driveωωωωωω

REAL FRIEND TEST!

This is GOOD...I expect it back too!
I especially like the last sentence!!!!!!

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself
and doesn't feel even the least bit weird shutting your
'beer/Pepsi drawer' with her foot!

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friends shoulder is soggy from your tears..

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first
names.
A real friend has their phone numbers
in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your
party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and
stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after
they've gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to
call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your
problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic
history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it!

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when
you have an argument.
A real friend calls you after you had a fight.

A simple friend expects you to always be there for
them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

A simple friend reads this e-mail and deletes it.
A real friend passes it on and sends it back to you!

Pass this on to anyone you care about......if you
get it back you have no beginning, no end.

It keeps us together, like our Circle of Friends.
Today I pass this on to you. Pass it on to someone
who is a friend to you..    Do you luv me enoughωωω  xx
