New songs
I've just uploaded a couple of new songs to my Gary Anderson "band" page. Both songs, Broken and Anither Scotland are based on poems by Montrose Poet Raymond Vettesse. Raymond has published 2 collections of poems, The Richt Noise and A Keen New Air. Many thanks to him for letting me use his work and I'm really please he likes the results. Hope you do too. Check them out by clicking on Gary Anderson in my Bands list or if it works follow the link below.

Transplantic session
As many of you will know Graham "Nod" Matthew recently completed a "Stupidathon" where he climbed a Munro, cycled 30 miles, swam a mile and played an hour of squash all in the same day in aid of Transplant Sport UK and to help fund his upcoming trip to the World transplant games in Australia. It was suggested at the time that we could put on a night of music to help raise funds for him. This has spawned the worlds first TRANSPLANTIC SESSION (eat your hearts out Ally Bain and Jerry Douglas).
IT will take place on 11 Sep in the Black Abbot Lounge and will feature Heidrum, F'n'3Gs and hopefully some as yet unconfirmed special guests including hopefully, if he can remember which end of a guitar is which. Mr Matthew himself. Where else can you get Highway to hell, Duelling banjos and Hit me baby one more time in one gig?
It would be great to see you all on the 11th and even better would be if you can spread the word to ensure the event gets maximum exposure.
Thanks for your help.

Sleep easy for another week
Great to see the news in the Courier that the Montrose Music Festival has been shortlisted for an Angus Ambassador award. Very well deserved for all their hard work. How did Montrose's own paper "the mighty review" cover this? Oh they didn't,, it was squeezed out by the 1/3 of a page dedicated to informing us that nothing has happened with the skate park again this week.
Oh well lets show support ourselves by getting behind the NECK and Sons of the Soil concert on 22nd Nov in the town hall. Tickets are available from Henry Hoggs, the Black Abbot or via committee members who can be contacted via the MMF website www.montrosemusicfestival.co.uk.0 Comments 398 days
